They flew back and forth continuously. Hisoka's ability, Bungee Gum, was perfectly suited for combat in this environment.
His opponent was a giant spider that, using its own silk strands, moved with similar agility, swinging between trees.
The sounds of battle drew everyone's attention. Balda watched in disbelief as the two figures flashed before his eyes.
'Terrifying!' he thought. That Hunter's power and speed far surpass mine.
Yet, that spider monster possesses almost equal strength. I vastly overestimated myself. Monsters like these are far beyond the capabilities of a Hunter at my level. Balda's heart pounded. If he hadn't encountered such a powerful Hunter, he might already be dead.
Hiss hiss! Several Chimera Ant soldiers surrounding Balda prepared to attack. Balda gritted his teeth.
'Three! I can't handle them alone…'
Bang bang bang! Pakunoda fired three shots. Three Nen bullets easily pierced the skulls of the three Chimera Ant soldiers.
"It's alright now," Pakunoda said softly, patting Balda on the back.
Such a sweet girl, encountering such monsters... no wonder she was so frightened.
Baise frowned. "I already hated this place enough, and now these disgusting things exist here too. I hate it even more."
From a distance, Balda watched the three monsters instantly dispatched. He looked back at the calm Pakunoda.
'This woman is incredibly strong.' Encountering such powerful humans was incredibly fortunate.
However, as Hisoka and the Human-Faced Spider continued their battle, Pakunoda and Baise simply observed from afar, showing no intention of intervening.
An anxious Balda asked, "You! Aren't you going to help?"
Ponzu also looked up at Pakunoda questioningly, as did Balda's other surviving companion, standing beside Baise, also looking at them with confusion.
"Hisoka, do you need help?" Pakunoda asked with a smile.
Hisoka, dodging an enemy attack, suddenly issued a chilling command.
"Anyone who interferes… I'll kill you too!"
A terrifying aura of killing intent emanated from his words, chilling them to the bone.
Having been cooped up here for over a month, Hisoka was close to going insane. Now that he'd finally encountered an interesting opponent, he wanted to toy with them. If he were serious, he would have already killed that large spider.
Pakunoda and Baise weren't surprised by Hisoka's words. His aura clearly showed his intense desire for a prolonged battle. Interrupting Hisoka at this point wouldn't be wise.
Balda froze, stunned. 'Just who are these people?!' he thought. 'Not allowing their companions to help… are they mad?!'
Not only Balda, but his other companion and Ponzu were equally perplexed. They could easily defeat the monster together, yet they were forbidden from interfering. While they didn't understand the reasoning, they dared not speak out. These people were, after all, human, albeit strange ones, and each seemed stronger than them.
The battle continued. Suddenly, a woman's voice echoed through the forest.
"Paiku, haven't you dealt with those humans yet? It's almost time to deliver the food to the Queen!"
A cold wind swept through the forest as the voice trailed off. Paiku, the Human-Faced Spider, stopped fighting.
"Zazan-sama, I'll be done soon. I'll capture this interesting human shortly."
A dark figure gradually emerged from the shadowy forest—a woman with a scorpion tail, her hands and feet exhibiting clear ant characteristics.
'Another monster!' Balda's eyes twitched nervously. From their conversation, this woman seemed to hold a higher rank than the Human-Faced Spider, implying her strength was far greater. A sense of danger surged through him. Balda took several steps back.
"This monster is even more terrifying than the last!"
"Let's attack together! Otherwise, we'll all die!" Balda pleaded with Pakunoda and Baise.
Pakunoda and Baise merely frowned slightly, offering no response. A wave of icy dread washed over Balda, his companion, and Ponzu. Why had they encountered such unreliable individuals?
Zazan, a Chimera Ant Squadron Leader, a hybrid of human and ant genes, walked towards them step by step. Her power far surpassed that of ordinary Chimera Ant soldiers. She looked at the humans before her.
"To encounter so many humans radiating such abundant life energy at once… Now I'll have enough food for the Queen, and the surplus is all mine to enjoy."
Her long scorpion tail swayed. The aura emanating from Zazan was even more sinister and terrifying than Paiku's.
Paiku looked at Zazan. "Zazan-sama, I found these humans first."
Zazan looked coldly at Paiku. "Deal with that human first!"
"Oh, right. I'll deal with him immediately!"
Paiku turned around, only to find Hisoka had vanished.
"He escaped?"
Suddenly, a Nen light flared behind him. Hisoka appeared like a phantom, a playing card gliding across Paiku's neck.
Pshhh! Paiku's head rolled onto a branch, his face filled with confusion. Why had he fallen? He couldn't feel his body.
Hisoka, using Bungee Gum, retrieved Paiku's head from mid-air, holding it in his hand as he landed. His eyes fixed on Zazan.
"Don't ignore me during a fight," Hisoka said, although the words were directed at Paiku.
Before Paiku could respond, Hisoka crushed his head with a snap. He tossed the remains aside, purple blood splattering. Hisoka narrowed his eyes, looking at Zazan.
"Scorpion Woman… truly peculiar creatures. So many fascinating beings in this place. If I'd known sooner, I wouldn't have been so bored."
