The Wraiths were quickly defeated, and the extensive forest was silent once again. We traditionally looked at each other, victorious and unharmed.
"We have won regardless," said Lyra, looking at the corpses of the Wraiths.
"Yes, but we must keep moving," said Thorne. "They can return."
We kept walking, the corpses of the Wraiths and their poor victims instantly reminding us of the cruelty of the world we lived in.
"I sense something awaits us," said Lila, looking at the path ahead. "Something powerful."
Aria nodded, looking at the corpses.
"We must be prepared for anything," she said. "In this world, death can strike at any moment."
We kept walking, ready to face the dangers that lay ahead.
We stopped setting up camp, the trees offering shelter from prying eyes. Lyra and Thorne discussed our route, while Kael and Rowan went getting some firewood.
Elianore sat on a rock, her eyes fixed on the flames that were beginning to dance. Aria prepared some medicinal herbs, in case anyone was injured.
I sat next to Elianore, watching the stars that were beginning to appear in the sky.
"It's good to rest a little," I said, smiling.
Elianore nodded, smiling too.
"Yes, we need it," she said. "We've been walking for days."
Rowan started making jokes, imitating Kael in wolf form. We burst out laughing, and even Kael couldn't help but smile.
"I'm a noble methamorph," Kael said, trying to keep a straight face. "I don't make silly faces."
We laughed even harder, and Lila joined us, laughing heartily.
Later, we lay around the fire, tired but content. The stars shone above us, and the fire crackled gently.
I lay awake, watching the others sleep. I got up silently, taking my sword with me.
I moved away from the camp and began to practice. The movements were fluid and precise, my sword gleaming in the night.
I concentrated on my movements, trying to perfect my techniques. The others were asleep, but I preferred to practice alone, so as not to disturb them.
The night was quiet, and I felt at peace with myself. I continued training, knowing it would make me stronger for the challenges ahead.
Finally, I lay down by the fire, gazing at the stars. I felt ready for what was to come, knowing I had my friends by my side.
The following days were a repeat of the same routine: walk, set up camp, rest. But they worked together, using their powers to help each other. Elianore used her powers to create makeshift bridges to cross rivers, while Thorne used his strength to help climb the steepest slopes.Lila used her visions to anticipate dangers and find the safest path.
One day, as they were walking, they heard a strange noise in the bushes. Zephyr turned to the others, gesturing for silence.
"What is it?" whispered Rowan.
"I don't know," replied Zephyr, moving cautiously.
Suddenly, a small rabbit came out of the bushes and ran towards them. The others laughed, relieved.
"It's just a rabbit," said Lyra, smiling.
But Zephyr continued to look around, trying to detect any potential danger. He knew the forest was full of surprises and that they had to remain vigilant to survive.
The sixth day of walking was particularly difficult. A storm blew up, bringing strong winds and torrential rain. They had to find shelter for protection, and spent the night inside a cave, listening to the sound of the rain outside.
"I'm glad we found this shelter," said Rowan, warming himself by the fire.
"Yes, me too," replied Zephyr."I don't know how we would have survived that storm without it."
The others nodded in agreement, and they spent the night resting and preparing for the next day.
