"He's weird," Sophia said again with her arms crossed as she leaned against the railing of the balcony.
"And yet, you still refuse to tell me why you're saying that," Selene laughed.
Sophia couldn't answer, she didn't know what her best friend expected her to say. She couldn't just come out and confess that she liked Luca too, not when everyone knew how Luca and Selene felt for each other. She couldn't tell her best friend that her heart twisted just slightly every time Luca looked at Selene as if she were the only girl in the world. And she couldn't tell Selene that Michael had suggested that Sophia steal Luca away.
How was she supposed to word it in a way that wouldn't make her a bad person?
"I'm telling you," she said in frustration.
"Look," Selene said. "I know you guys are still getting used to him but come on, Soph. Who isn't a little weird?"
"No, you're not listening," Sophia said in a more forceful tone. "He's dangerous."
