Chapter 46 - Getting closer

Third person~

"You took Luca's punch and actually managed to stay on your feet. You must be stronger than you let on."

Michael was surprised to see Gabriel at his door that evening. And he even came with praises, and not disdain.

Michael raised a brow, unsure of how to act when his target was acting all friendly with him.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Gabriel asked as he stepped inside without an invitation, not that he needed one. The whole house was his, after all.

"Aren't you supposed to be packing?" Michael asked as he went back to his own packing.

"Doesn't it hurt?" Gabriel asked, completely ignoring Michael's question as he laid down on the bed.

Michael paused his packing and looked over at Gabriel who was beaming.

"What?" Michael asked.

"Does it hurt?" Gabriel repeated as he pointed at Michael's bandaged cheek.

"It does," Michael replied.

Gabriel chuckled and lay back on the bed.
