I blinked. "You were homeschooled?"
"Yeah." She tilted her head. "Why the fuck did you think I was a bully? Is that what's on your card? That someone was a bully?"
I swallowed.
She let out a humorless laugh. "And you thought it was me? I mean, yeah. I beat up my tutor once or twice, but that was personal."
I glanced down at my card. "Well, crap."
"Do you all think I'm a bully? What the fuck?"
"Who else would it be if not you?" Jordan rolled his eyes.
"Let's keep going," I said, redirecting the conversation.
"Shouldn't there be a penalty or something for accusing someone wrongly?" Brittany huffed.
"Chris, I have a question for you," Aaliyah said, ignoring Brittany completely.
Chris?!
"Chris?" Jordan's eyes lit up. "Chris?!"
Aaliyah gave a lazy grin. "Can I ask my question, Chris?"
Again?
I turned to Christopher and he didn't seem bothered by the way she called his name.
"Go on, Liyah," he responded.
