Selene~
By the time Cass and I got to the hospital, Brittany was already there.
"Took you long enough," was her greeting.
"You're here," Jordan smiled from the hospital bed. He was munching on apple slices while Brittany was helping him slice the apple.
She was certainly nicer than I'd expected. From the way she spoke last time I saw her, I'd thought she would never visit Jordan.
"Hey," I moved closer to the bed and kept my voice as quiet as I could. "You look like hell."
Jordan raised a brow. "Girl, you better be joking. Hospital air is therapeutic as fuck."
I couldn't help but snort. Hospital air? Therapeutic? That was certainly a first.
"Therapeutic?" I repeated.
"Meals in bed, people fussing over me, free drugs, you guys handle the bills. What's not to love?"
Brittany rolled her eyes and held out another slice to Jordan which he collected.
"Don't let him fool you," she said. "He's been whining about the Jell-O for the last two hours."
