Chapter 1 - Kaelith

An athletic-looking young man with messy black hair, laid on the wooden floor of a crumbling shack staring up at the ceiling,

Faint beams of light illuminated through the cracks in the roof, casting thin slashes of sunlight across his pale skin.

It was nearing the end of fall,

His grandpa yelled from the Kitchen, "Get up, and come eat Breakfast Kaelith!),

Kaelith begrudgingly got up off the floor and walked to the kitchen,

His stomach was growling wildly as he looked at the table where his grandpa had placed his plate of food and said

"thanks for breakfast grandpa,"

he struggled to hide his face full of disappointment.

Fish was all he ever ate, being on an island and broke, there weren't that many options on what Kaelith had available to eat.

Nonetheless, Kaelith was grateful to his grandpa for catching these fish,

Kaelith knew that his grandpa was nearing the end of his life,

He had been living with his grandpa since his parents died of an illness when he was 5 years old,

He didn't remember their faces and only knew about them through the stories his grandpa told him.

Kaelith and his grandpa lived in a wooden shack near the shore,

The Island that they had lived on was covered entirely by massive trees that reached high into the sky, blocking out sunlight,

The island was about 700 square miles, and only had a little more than 100 people on it.

Kaelith had only interacted with these people a couple of times when he used to go to the market with his grandpa when he was younger,

but they stopped going because of his grandpa's declining health.

Kaelith was bored all the time, but he was content with just living in this little shack with his grandpa.
