Chapter 9 - [9] - Sōe Nakiri's Little Scheme

"Still as sharp as ever, Gin. Then I'll leave him in your hands," Senzaemon Nakiri said with a smile.

"Rest assured, Director. I'll be responsible for developing his special ability, tapping into his potential, and I'll also inform him about the Jewel Generation Project. This kid is a loyal person—if someone helps him out, he won't just stand by and do nothing."

Gin Dojima wasn't surprised by Senzaemon Nakiri's decision. Senzaemon had great trust in him and also understood him very well. Coupled with his relationship with Yuuki, having him take over this matter was the best choice.

"By the way, regarding the development of his special ability, you can consult with Sōe's side. Nakiri International has done quite a bit of research in this area."

Before hanging up, Senzaemon Nakiri added a reminder. Hearing this, Gin Dojima nodded.

He was a chef, not a researcher, nor did he possess a special ability. Now that Senzaemon had reminded him, he indeed thought of Sōe Nakiri.

Nakiri International, established by Sōe Nakiri, wasn't just for expanding the Nakiri family's influence internationally; the organization was also based on research into new cuisines and various technological abilities.

Sōe Nakiri also didn't want to see his younger sister continue in her current state. Like Senzaemon Nakiri, he had put in a massive effort to find a solution to the side effects of the God's Tongue.

The establishment of Nakiri International was partly due to the God's Tongue. Since traditional culinary arts found it extremely difficult to solve the side effects, they decided to try new technologies and new paths.

In his view, perhaps the method to solve the God's Tongue's side effects was hidden within these new approaches.

Therefore, Nakiri International knew a fair bit about special abilities and had conducted various studies. In this aspect, Sōe Nakiri was indeed much more professional than Gin Dojima.

After hanging up, Gin Dojima immediately called Sōe Nakiri and, repeating the process he'd used with Senzaemon, sent over the information.

Senzaemon Nakiri, on his end, had people look for more information about Yuuki. Although he knew a little about Yuuki, it was still too little, so further understanding was necessary.

After all, Azami Nakiri had already caused him a huge loss back then. At that time, his energy was mainly focused on the God's Tongue, and since Azami seemed normal when he wasn't having an episode, he had overlooked Azami as a hidden time bomb.

By the time he reacted, the bomb had already exploded. His granddaughter's current twisted ideology was all thanks to that scoundrel Azami.

Although he wasn't sure if Yuuki would end up with his granddaughter, if they wanted to solve the drawbacks of the God's Tongue, the two would undoubtedly have a lot of contact.

So, he needed to understand Yuuki better. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

As for Mana Nakiri—although Senzaemon Nakiri still had contact with his daughter, he chose not to inform her about Yuuki.

After all, over so many years, Mana had seen many so-called hopes, all of which eventually crumbled.

Before achieving some tangible results, Senzaemon Nakiri didn't want to stir up his daughter. After all, the future was uncontrollable. Right now, Yuuki merely represented a hope of solving the God's Tongue's side effects; it wasn't a certainty.

However, it wasn't long before Senzaemon Nakiri received a call from his son.

After learning about Yuuki's situation, Sōe Nakiri was also extremely shocked. Yuuki's special ability was completely off the charts; at least, no current ability in the culinary world could compare to Yuuki's.

Although the information was provided by Gin Dojima, he still confirmed it with his father.

Only after receiving Senzaemon Nakiri's affirmative answer did Sōe Nakiri finally accept this claim and begin to make a series of arrangements.

"Coming back early? Did something happen? Why the rush?"

Although Nakiri International had many matters to attend to, Yuuki's situation was undoubtedly more important. So, Sōe Nakiri immediately made a series of arrangements.

At the same time, he also informed his daughter, Alice Nakiri. In fact, according to the original plan, Alice was also supposed to return to Japan and enroll in Totsuki before the school year began.

She was also a member of the Jewel Generation. But now, the timeline had been moved up significantly, which made Alice very confused.

"There is indeed something very important..."

Sōe Nakiri looked at his daughter, thought for a moment, and decided to tell her part of the reason.

After all, this kind of thing didn't need to be hidden. Yuuki would use his special ability, so it was bound to appear in the public eye. Besides—he himself had a small, personal agenda.

With Yuuki's potential, there was a high probability he would become someone like his younger sister, reigning supreme in the culinary world. So, if his own daughter could establish a good enough relationship with him—even if not a romantic one, just a simple friendship would be quite good.

As for Ryō Kurokiba—honestly, in terms of culinary skill, Ryō was indeed very good. But in other aspects, Sōe Nakiri wasn't very optimistic.

Now that someone like Yuuki had appeared—from the information he currently possessed, Yuuki was stronger than Ryō in every aspect—so he naturally favored Yuuki more.

Since Alice happened to ask about it, he went along with it and explained.

As a father, Sōe Nakiri also hoped his daughter could have a better future. He wouldn't force his daughter to like someone or use her as a political bargaining chip.

What he was doing now was merely creating an opportunity. He knew Alice's exuberant curiosity very well.

Alice had met Ryō Kurokiba back then precisely because of that strong curiosity. Just a few words from the researchers at the institute had led her directly to Ryō.

And just as he expected, after hearing Sōe Nakiri's explanation, the expressions of both Alice Nakiri and Ryō Kurokiba changed.

Both had spent a long time at Nakiri International and had some understanding of special abilities.

But Yuuki's ability was indeed excessively strong. After all, just a super sense of touch comparable to the God's Tongue was ridiculous enough—and that was only part of his ability.

Alice's curiosity was piqued; she wanted to meet Yuuki. As for Ryō Kurokiba, compared to curiosity, he felt more of a fighting spirit. That's right—the guy was practically a cooking fanatic.

Hearing about such a skilled chef, Ryō Kurokiba couldn't sit still.
