Chapter 10 - [10] - The Shockwaves from Food Honor and Evolving Touch

"Alright, you two hurry up and prepare. We leave in three days."

Sōe Nakiri glanced at the two of them and then left.

"To think there's such a ridiculously overpowered ability in this world—Maybe this guy can really put that annoying Erina in her place!"

Alice Nakiri even imagined the scene of Yuuki defeating Erina Nakiri. She had always wanted to see Erina fail, even if she herself wasn't the victor.

Of course, this thought of hers was merely to prove a point.

In the original story, although Alice Nakiri constantly opposed Erina Nakiri, making it seem like they had a huge feud, it was all because of a childhood incident.

Alice didn't actually wish Erina ill; she just wanted to prove a point. On the contrary, Alice knew some things about Erina, so she had always been one of the people who cared most about her.

When they were young, Alice offering her dishes for Erina to taste wasn't just about seeking Erina's approval.

Part of the reason was that she knew what Erina was going through—abandoned by her mother and then indoctrinated with a bunch of wrong ideas by her father. As her cousin, Alice cared about her.

However, at that time, Erina was heavily influenced by Azami Nakiri and was too young. Children speak their minds bluntly, and her words hurt Alice, which is why Alice had always wished to see her fail.

But when Azami Nakiri took over Totsuki, the first person to act was Alice, who immediately hid Erina in the Polar Star Dormitory.

"Let's go, Milady. It's time to pack."

Just as Alice was thinking Yuuki might be able to overshadow Erina Nakiri, Ryō Kurokiba, who was beside her, spoke up.

"Hmm? Ryō-kun, you're interested in Yuuki too? Right, given your personality, you must be eager to compete with him!"

Alice Nakiri wasn't surprised by Ryō Kurokiba's words. Don't be fooled by Ryō's usual lazy demeanor, as if he had no motivation at all.

But once he knew of any skilled chef, Ryō Kurokiba would want to challenge them—a complete cooking fanatic.

"Indeed, very interested. Not just this Yuuki guy, but also that so-called God's Tongue."

Ryō Kurokiba's target wasn't just Yuuki; he had heard of the famous God's Tongue for a long time and had long wanted to compete against its wielder.

"While I admit you're stronger than me, Ryo, that Erina is already a Senior Chef. You're still some distance away from becoming a Senior Chef, right?" Alice couldn't help but say.

Ryō Kurokiba was strong, even stronger than her, but he was still just an Intermediate Chef, with some distance still to cover before reaching Senior Chef.

And Erina Nakiri had been a Senior Chef for some time now; there was still a certain gap between them.

"Doesn't that make defeating her even more worthwhile?"

Hearing this, Ryō Kurokiba didn't feel the slightest bit discouraged; instead, his fighting spirit grew even stronger.

"Fine, whatever makes you happy. Just don't come crying when you lose."

Alice indicated that she didn't really care; she would just enjoy the show.

"You're talking about yourself, aren't you, Milady? After all, crying after losing is something only you would do."

In the end, Ryō Kurokiba also left after dropping that line, leaving only Alice fuming. Although, in a way, Ryō was right; she had indeed cried after losing.

But was that called crying? Could a chef's actions be called crying? That was called being unceremonious, releasing one's true nature, okay!

Since Ryō Kurokiba had slipped away quickly, Alice could only sulk by herself and then go pack.

Time flew, and three days passed.

During this period, Yuuki had also received Small Baits, but it seemed his luck had run out earlier. The items fished out by the Small Baits were all very common ingredients and utensils, nothing special. On his second day at the resort, Yuuki was assigned to a kitchen.

The chefs in the kitchen didn't show any malice towards Yuuki.

Although in their eyes, Yuuki had gotten in through connections, no one would look down on him. They knew one thing very well: Totsuki would never tarnish its own reputation.

The Totsuki Resort was also one of Totsuki's public faces. To be able to work in such a high-class resort, one obviously had to have a certain level of skill.

So, even if someone got in through connections, they definitely had something extraordinary about them. They understood this, so no one looked down on Yuuki or targeted him.

Moreover, Yuuki knew some of the people here. After all, his parents had worked at the Totsuki Resort, and later he had Gin Dojima looking out for him. Yuuki also frequented the Totsuki Resort, so he was familiar with some of the people here.

However, after just one day of work, Yuuki's performance left everyone present stunned.

It wasn't just them; when news of Yuuki's series of actions reached Gin Dojima's ears, Dojima was also greatly surprised. Although he knew Yuuki would quickly integrate and achieve something in the kitchen with his special ability—

—For him to cause such a stir in just one day completely exceeded his expectations.

What Yuuki did was very simple. Since he had just entered the kitchen, he naturally wasn't assigned any cooking tasks, as those dishes were for guests.

So, the work they assigned Yuuki was to help prepare ingredients, seasonings, and the like, with someone also teaching him. They planned to first understand Yuuki's situation and then make adjustments.

But Yuuki's series of actions directly surpassed their understanding.

Take preparing ingredients, for example. For an apprentice, this was very tedious work. Especially at the Totsuki Resort, the quantity of ingredients needed was astonishing. Preparing ingredients was not only laborious but also extremely monotonous.

However, Yuuki was different. In this aspect, as soon as he started, he left the others miles behind.

With the enhancement of Food Honor, Yuuki's speed in processing ingredients was several times that of others. Most importantly, the ingredients he prepared were the most perfect among all.

This was all due to his Evolving Touch and Food Honor.

Food Honor allowed him to complete the work with minimal effort, and at a speed several times faster than others.

His Evolving Touch allowed him to accurately judge the condition of the ingredients.

For every ingredient that passed through his hands, he could make adjustments, thus ensuring the processed ingredients were the most perfect.

The only thing Yuuki found slightly regrettable was that today's work didn't involve cutting vegetables, so he didn't have a chance to use his Seven-Star Knives.
