Alex pulled MODOK through the air and held him suspended in front of him like a helpless puppet.
His voice was calm—almost casual.
"I ask. You answer."
Cold sweat burst from MODOK's oversized forehead.
"Ask! A-anything you want!"
He had no loyalty to Kang—only fear.
And right now, Alex was the one worth fearing.
---
"Your Kang should have captured other Earthlings, correct? Who are they?"
The question made Scott Lang and Cassie instantly look over, eyes wide.
This was their best chance at clues about Hope and the others.
MODOK blurted everything out in one breath:
"Yes! He caught several Earth people! They're… weird! One of them shoots metal claws from his hands! Another fires lasers from his eyes! And there were several powerful women, too!"
"One can change her appearance, one can turn into diamond, and one is… uh… just a normal girl."
MODOK shivered just remembering them.
"They gave us a lot of trouble! The Great One lost many drones and ships trying to subdue them!"
---
Alex's eyes sharpened.
It's them.
Mystique. Emma Frost. Wolverine. Cyclops. America Chavez.
The whole Krakoa group—
all swept into the Quantum Realm and captured by Kang.
MODOK didn't know America's ability, so he assumed she was "ordinary."
Clearly she hadn't been able to fight back when taken.
---
"Darren—"
"It's MODOK!"
MODOK snapped at Scott.
Maybe he didn't dare roar at Alex, but at Scott he could still vent.
"Fine, MODOK," Scott continued impatiently. "Anyone else? This 'ordinary girl'—who is she?"
MODOK snorted.
"Lang, I know what you want. But it wasn't Janet. And it wasn't Hope."
"We know they entered the Realm too, but we haven't found them. Up to now, no trace."
That hit Scott like a punch.
He didn't know whether to feel relieved or crushed.
Relieved—because Hope wasn't in Kang's hands.
Crushed—because the only lead he had just evaporated.
---
"Get lost."
Alex flicked his hand.
WHOOSH!
MODOK shot across the sky like a launched missile—
vanishing into the distance.
He wasn't stupid enough to stick around.
He fled immediately.
Why didn't Alex kill him?
Simple:
MODOK was now his GPS to Kang.
And Alex's super-senses were already locked onto him.
No matter where he ran, there was no escape.
---
"Outsider."
A voice spoke.
The rebel leader Jentorra appeared with several warriors, her face still full of awe.
Moments ago she had wanted Alex removed at all costs.
He was a risk—another outsider who could attract Kang's wrath.
And indeed, her fears had been correct—
Kang's forces arrived because of the outsiders.
But what she never expected…
Was that this outsider could annihilate an entire fleet with a gesture.
If someone like him joined the rebellion—
Their odds against Kang would skyrocket.
She had thought long and hard in just the few minutes since witnessing that overwhelming power.
Finally she spoke:
"Kang will never let you go. You surely know this."
"Join us. Fight beside us against him."
Her tone was genuine—almost pleading.
---
Alex shook his head immediately.
"Thank you. But to deal with Kang… I'm enough on my own."
A simple sentence.
A terrifying confidence.
Jentorra tried persuading him several more times, but Alex's stance did not budge.
She had no choice but to let it go.
---
Scott approached.
"Alex… I guess this is where we split up."
"Yeah," Alex nodded. "They need you more than I do."
Scott exhaled.
"Then… good luck, man."
"You too."
BOOM.
Alex disappeared—
vanishing with a sonic crack.
---
Across ten kilometers, Alex shadowed MODOK from afar—
so subtly that MODOK never sensed a thing.
Finally MODOK reached a massive palace-like structure, gleaming with advanced Quantum Realm tech.
This was unmistakably—
Kang's base.
Alex released his superhuman perception through the structure.
Immediately—
He found them.
Raven. Emma. Logan. Scott Summers. America Chavez.
Each held in separate containment chambers.
His eyes narrowed.
Found you.
