Chapter 8 - chapter 7

The elder below raised his eyes and looked up. The moment he saw a hundred deities standing in rows surrounding him and Hua San, his face turned pale instantly. Shock was clearly evident in his wide, panicked eyes, as if the entire world was about to collapse.

He stood still for a moment, his heart filled with such intense fear that he could hardly move. His breathing grew shallow, and his body felt as if it were pinned down by an overwhelming pressure he couldn't withstand.

The hand that had been holding the blue glowing sword began to tremble uncontrollably until the sword slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground.

This was no ordinary group of deities commonly seen! These deities… were mighty beings, far more powerful than even the Divine Emperors of the Thousand Worlds! Their mere presence made the elder feel a chill so deep it raised uncontrollable goosebumps. Both of his hands shook violently without his will, then began to twitch slightly, following the tremors of his heart.

'She... she has the power to create such great deities as these!?'

The elder's eyes widened in shock, his heartbeat pounding in chaotic rhythm, while a storm of confused thoughts erupted uncontrollably in his mind.

'These are... great deities! From all I've studied, such strange and powerful energy only the descendants of legendary bloodlines could create great deities like these! Could she... be a descendant of that clan!?'

He pressed his lips tightly together, his expression turning into one of dread.

'Impossible... That clan vanished millions of years ago! How could they return to such a lowly realm!?'

And yet… no one in any world or universe could wield such power, unless… it was blood from the clan that once shook the countless multiverses!

The elder stood frozen like a statue, his mind overwhelmed by disbelief mixed with fear. His heart sank into a pit of dread for many long moments he couldn't move a single step…

It seemed this young woman was no longer his opponent. Even if her current power was at the level of a Great Divine Emperor of the Hundred-Thousand Worlds, what was even more terrifying than her skill… was the bloodline she carried.

It was the lineage of a legendary clan, a clan that once rose to fame across the vast multiverse before disappearing millions of years ago.

That clan once had an individual who achieved the "Flawless Level of the Supreme Universe" the highest tier of power, to which even the universes bowed. That person could create limitless great deities and possessed the strength to slay immortal kings, gods, and emperors ruling over countless realms with ease.

Once, he was the Supreme Great Emperor who reigned above all things in the great, vast multiverse.

And yet… that clan mysteriously vanished without a trace. No one ever discovered why.

Today… to encounter a woman descended from the legendary bloodline capable of creating great deities he was left stunned beyond comprehension. His limbs trembled, and cold sweat began dripping from his temples before he even realized it.

'...This is bad! The Emperor went and killed her beautiful husband without cause or reason. Who would have imagined this woman was descended from a clan that once held the power to annihilate the multiverse!'

'Even if the Emperor's strength surpasses hers… should that clan rise in vengeance for her, I fear that not even combining my power with the Emperor's would allow us to survive even a fraction of a second!'

'The Emperor has truly brought doom upon himself! If a great war breaks out, the tens of millions of universes under his rule would surely be reduced to ashes!'

'Even worse, no one knows where that clan is hiding within the great multiverse. If they return... neither the Emperor nor I would escape their grasp!'

His thoughts sank like a massive stone crashing onto his head. He stood still, body cold, and even his spirit seemed unable to stir...

As for Hua San, he too was left stunned. A heavy weight pressed against his chest, no different from the elder's.

'I never imagined... the legendary clan that vanished millions of years ago would be her bloodline!'

'I must find a way to kill her as soon as possible to silence her before word reaches the ears of anyone in that clan!'

'If not... catastrophe will be upon us soon!'

Hua San pondered as cold sweat flowed down his entire body. Even though his power currently exceeded hers, if her legendary clan truly returned one day... he feared that not even a fragment of his soul would remain!

He had to kill her before someone from that clan appeared before them!

Hua San clenched his fists tightly, the pressure seemingly fused with the tension in his palm. His face still bore a deeply unsettled expression before he slowly closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Once he had regained control of his composure, he opened his eyes with resolute determination. If she were allowed to live any longer, it could bring catastrophic disaster in the future.

With that, he gracefully warped his body out from among the hundred deities who stood in a perfectly arranged formation, taking the elder with him to a safer location.

"Elder, withdraw from this place," Hua San said, gently lifting the elder's outer robe slightly with his hand before letting it fall back down. "I will deal with her myself, to ensure this secret never reaches her clan."

Once they were out of range from the hundred deities, the elder nodded in response to the emperor's command, raising one arm to support his own shoulder.

He had sustained severe injuries. His body was drained of all strength, as if a deadly poison had seeped into his bones and blood. The pain spread throughout his entire body, to the point where he could barely remain standing.

Hua San turned to glance at the woman standing at a distance. His eyes narrowed slightly before he spoke in a calm voice.

"She's far more dangerous than I expected."

As the woman's gaze met the steady stare of Hua San, who stood watching in silence, a surge of fury exploded within her, unstoppable.

The image from that day surged back into her mind the day she had to watch her husband disintegrate before her very eyes.

That image hurt more than words could express it was like thousands of blades piercing through the center of her heart, stealing the very breath from her lungs.

Slowly, she raised her hand and pointed a finger at Hua San.

A brilliant blue light burst forth from her fingertip like lightning, slicing through the air and shooting directly toward Hua San.

The hundred deities standing silently around them began to move in unison, like an army breathing with a single breath.

Weapons of all kinds were raised tightly in massive hands, their eyes gleamed with a ruthless light.

When one of them took a single step forward, the sound thundered like the heavens shattering. Stars outside the universe quaked, as though on the verge of being crushed by an unfathomable force.

The atmosphere beyond the cosmos was filled with immense winds erupting from the bodies of the hundred gods their power radiating like solar storms, devouring everything around them until space itself warped.

It was a sight both terrifying and magnificent beyond description.

Even Hua San, who carefully evaded the beam of pale blue light from the woman's finger, could feel the overwhelming might of those hundred deities.

Their power… was vast like a colossal moon illuminating boundless dimensions.

"Hmph! You think a mere hundred gods can kill me? You insult me! I am the Emperor who rules over tens of millions of universes! You will never destroy me! Eye of Darkness!!"

Hua San's roar echoed like thunder splitting the heavens.

Suddenly, behind him appeared an enormous, otherworldly eye that expanded outward in a massive ring, surrounding the hundred towering gods.

The deep purple eye emitted a dazzling glow and slowly blinked once.

That alone unleashed a stream of dark red light from its pupil like a torrent of darkness devouring all light.

It snaked through the stars and struck straight toward the great gods.

Hundreds of massive eyes appeared matching the number of deities present scattering around them in perfect positions: not too close, not too far.

Each eye fired a crimson beam with surgical precision, aiming to annihilate in a single strike!

But then…

Each god calmly raised a single hand.

The energy they emitted was as faint as a gentle breath, yet in the next instant, the blood-red beams… dissolved into nothingness.

No sound. No collision. Only a soft whoosh… and the darkness was erased.

"They're strong!" Hua San muttered in a low voice, pausing momentarily. His eyes darkened, as if analyzing what he had just witnessed.

From sensing the power of the hundred gods towering before him, it was clear these were no ordinary deities of any one realm.

"These aren't ordinary gods… They are Great Gods from beyond the universe!"

The thought echoed clearly in his mind, like a whisper reverberating across dimensions.

These Great Gods didn't just surpass the usual deities he'd encountered their power was tens of thousands of times higher.

Just a glance was enough to perceive the vast difference. Their strength was akin only to the most legendary of ancient clans.

Even so… it still wasn't enough to frighten him.

"Hua San… Is that all you've got? If you dare, try killing the Great Gods and see if you can!"

The woman's voice was soft, yet laced with icy disdain as though each word was wrapped in frost. Her eyes locked on the now-rigid Hua San, whose face was filled with astonishment at what he'd just seen.

She smiled faintly at the corner of her lips. Slowly, her pale slender hand reached out and toyed with her hair, as if completely unbothered by the unfolding chaos as if none of it posed any threat to her at all.

"You!" Hua San roared with fury in his eyes, which now burned with anger. His figure vanished instantly, dodging the coordinated attacks of the Great Gods who now charged, swinging colossal weapons engraved with strange reliefs.

He dodged swiftly.

In truth… these so-called Great Gods were still far from being his equals! He had only used a portion of his power, holding back considerably. These divine beings weren't worthy enough for him to unleash his full strength!

But still, the power of these hundred Great Gods could not be underestimated. If he intended to destroy them, it would require a fair amount of effort!

Though they couldn't harm him, if he delayed much longer, the elder's life might soon be extinguished by the gods!

With that thought, Hua San soared toward a blue oval-shaped cage. He seized the girl within and held his sword to her neck, then turned to the elder, grinning wickedly as he shouted:

"Beautiful lady, if you don't withdraw these gods right now… I'll kill your daughter!"

"You choose surrender peacefully… or lose the last of your family!"

Hua San glared at the woman with cruel eyes from afar. As she heard his words, her expression changed instantly a flicker of panic appeared before her gaze hardened on him.

"Let her go! Now!" the woman growled, her voice cold and commanding. Her pale hand clenched into a fist so tightly that her veins bulged. The tension in the air thickened as she stared at Hua San with a look full of fury, worry, and unrelenting hatred.
