Chapter 38 - Righteous path

Another morning appeared after the conclusion of the night.

A calm morning without much presence around Zeldia. Some whispers appeared to be heard across the world itself, among the birds, among the humans, and among every living being.

It was a lazy morning as it was the weekend. Raizel woke up early as usual and did his usual activities as he always did, similar to the others.

Following morning, the whole day passed slowly, and then evening appeared to the world.

It was a different realm from the 1st, the 3rd supreme realm of the 6th layer. A realm with birds whispering all around there along with minor presence of flowing wind, not much different from a living world.

A deep dark-haired middle-aged man appeared in front of a huge castle as he seemed to be looking away from it while coming out. He seemed to be pretty tall and gentle, judging by his appearance. Every single one of his steps created an incredible presence that was never seen. His outstanding physique made his appearance even more effective and strong.

He slowly came out of the castle and stood in front of it while keeping his gaze toward the sky.

"I know you are hiding there. Come out," he spoke up calmly.

As soon as he did, a giant shadow approached, carrying a terribly strong presence.

"My beloved and honorable comrade, and the ruler of the 3rd supreme realm. It's been a while since I met you here in this realm—this absolutely stunning and beautiful realm," the person in the shadow spoke up while appearing with blonde hair, casual and aggression mixed expression.

"Yeah, it's been a while since we met. It seems like the sacred spirits don't change so easily," the supreme ruler replied, as his voice appeared to be a bit broken.

"Now, now, it's time to go out once more. That cursed supreme ruler finally returned. We have to wipe him out once again," the sacred spirit said, smiling along.

"I believe we will receive the same amount of help we used to receive from you, Mister Sebastian," he added.

"Lucian, I don't think I can be the same person I used to be," Sebastian replied, his expression completely empty.

"Everyone changes, and so did I. I changed the path I used to be on," he added. He seemed to be totally expressionless, and yet, there was a strong presence in his eyes that said he had made a decision—a decision with complete faith.

Lucian lifted a brow and deeply set his gaze on Sebastian.

"You're not possibly trying to say that you're going to switch sides, right?" he said, leaving a question mark afterward.

"Yes, I'm going to do it," Sebastian replied casually.

"Just how much longer will I follow the path of power and arrogance when I've lost my faith in myself? We're joining forces to defeat a mere supreme ruler, and yet we're afraid." Sebastian took a breath, lifted his brow, and glared toward Lucian a bit.

"Just how much longer will I keep myself as a piece of trash who can't be confident enough to step outside his realm? I just can't be like that anymore," he added while glaring. Afterward, he closed his eyes and lowered his face a bit, as if thinking deeply.

Sebastian took a breath and lifted his gaze toward Lucian.

"I've already decided what I want to do. I will join him, even if the entire layer itself goes up against me. At least I can tell myself that I didn't die as a loser but as a being who helped a righteous person," he concluded, speaking slowly, his voice seeming broken.

Lucian smiled a bit toward Sebastian and spoke up.

"Then it's absolutely unnecessary for you to exist. I will shatter your existence right here and now, along with your belief." Lucian replied while glaring at Sebastian intentionally.

"That was the obvious outcome that was supposed to come for me. I'm prepared for everything, and so, I will accept whatever fate decides for me," Sebastian spoke up slowly, smiling a bit afterward as he seemed pretty confident in his decision and words.

Right after Sebastian finished his words, a sword pierced his chest. Someone had pierced it with a golden sword filled with intense magic power. It was Lucian with his golden sword. He appeared in front of Sebastian and struck in an instant.

Sebastian slowly fell to the ground as he seemed to lose his strength. Pure blood came out of his body and spilled slowly.

Sebastian smiled a bit and stared toward the sky.

"Death isn't as painful as they say," Sebastian raised his voice barely, with almost no strength left to speak.

"At least I did what I wanted. I'm glad," he spoke up with his broken voice.

His soul left his body. His eyebrows that had tried to open finally gave up and closed gently—concluding his story.

As Sebastian's soul left the realm, Lucian drew a magic portal and left the realm as well.

Days passed. Nights passed. The sun appeared, and then the cycle repeated again and again.

Even though Raizel heard about Sebastian's death, he remained careless. As for him, Sebastian was nothing but an enemy who would've gotten in his way someday.

After days, another evening appeared.

Raizel and the other three gathered in front of the academy, as they had finished their academy activities a bit earlier. None of them except Raizel really knew the reason behind the gathering.

Maria was the one to ask the question first.

"Why did we gather here? Anything wrong?" Maria asked, seeming a bit curious and annoyed.

"Of course, there is a reason," Raizel replied instantly, then took a breath.

"I will introduce someone to you guys—a new mate who will join us," Raizel added.

"Who is it?"

"You'll see soon, Maria," Raizel replied casually.

Maria showed a tired expression. She seemed annoyed.

"I'm waiting for the guest, then."

Raizel drew a magic circle and created a magic portal right in front of him. Without saying another word, he stepped inside the portal, and the others followed him.

The portal slowly closed, and its presence disappeared.

Afterward, we see a different, yet familiar place—the realm of the supreme being—the 1st supreme realm.

The weather of the realm had changed, as the heavy presence of dark clouds kept the realm dark and deep yet stunning. Some thunder sparks appeared, roaring after taking decent breaks.

A purple magic portal appeared there, brimming with immense magic power and clearly glowing with the presence of four individuals and their incredible aura.

One by one, Raizel and the others stepped out of the portal and set foot in the 1st supreme realm.

As soon as they did, Raizel spoke up, "Wait for me here. I will be back soon."

"Wait, Raizel…" Maria shouted a bit, failing to finish her words.

Without noticing Maria's call, Raizel drew a magic portal and vanished right after finishing his sentence.

The portal disappeared instantly.

Maria seemed annoyed as Raizel left the place without listening to her.

"That unpredictable individual," Maria said, a bit of anger on her face.
