The moment their voices started talking about that man, a chill ran through me. My fork froze halfway to my mouth. I tried to pretend like I was focused on my food, but I could hear them — every word, every whisper, every detail that sounded half-familiar. They were talking about men following Roxy… about someone she killed.
The guy whom I saw her k... Killing at that club is the same guy who planned her accident, the same guy who was the reason she ended up in the ER and almost lost the ability to walk... Hell, she almost lost her life in that accident.
From what I heard even though she killed him, the danger is still these because he is part of some group, i don't if it's some gang or some illegal organization that's seeking her death, but I understood is that the whole group is still after, and killing that guy only made it worse.
And that alone sent a cold tremor through my spine, even my hands started sweating at that thought.
