Chapter 10 - 10

"You shut up! I'm not your grandma. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll rip your mouth apart.

I want to see if there's still anyone who can protect you now!"

Marga saw the whole class laughing at her, and it made her even angrier.

But when she looked at Avery, she suddenly felt something was off.

Back in school, no matter how she beat, scolded, or humiliated her, Avery never dared to fight back. But today, not only did she answer back, she was sharp-tongued and confident.

"You want to fight me? I'm fine with that. But I have one condition.

If you lose, you'll have to switch desks and chairs with me.

I don't know which heartless person made my desk and chair so dirty.

How can someone with no upbringing even get into college?

Are college students allowed to have such poor manners? Sigh… such a pity for a good school."

Avery wore an exaggerated expression of regret. The moment she finished speaking, several girls' faces turned pale.

She noticed it but didn't care. She'd deal with them later. There'd be plenty of chances.

"Hmph. I'm the eldest daughter of the Yang Family. Even if I lent you ten lives' worth of courage, you wouldn't dare touch me.

If this were before, I might have tolerated you a little. But now, I don't have to anymore."

Marga, seeing Avery talking back again and again, wanted to teach her a lesson.

She took a few quick steps forward and raised her hand, aiming to slap her.

This little wretch kicked out of her home—if she hit her, so what? Who would dare say anything?

Avery didn't move. She didn't dodge either. Instead, she quickly pulled a small pair of scissors from her backpack and aimed the blade directly at Marga's incoming hand.

"You better not hit me. If you get hurt, that's not my problem."

Avery even kindly warned her.

But Marga's hand was already in motion. When she saw the scissors, she panicked and tried to stop.

But she had used too much force, and the momentum threw her balance off.

She stumbled forward, and Avery quickly stepped back.

"Are you trying to frame me? You already said I was kicked out of the Lu family. If you want to fake an injury, don't choose me—I don't even have money to pay you."

Avery saw her fall to the ground and tugged at the corner of her lips. Was this girl stupid?

"Avery!"

Marga awkwardly climbed up from the floor, patting the dust off herself while roaring.

"Aiya, don't shout so loud. We're still young. Our ears are perfectly fine."

Avery still had that calm smile on her face. She just enjoyed watching people lose their temper.

"You little brat! I'll tear your mouth apart!"

Marga saw Avery smiling and charged toward her in rage.

Avery swiftly used her foot to hook a chair and slid it in front of Marga.

Marga tripped and fell hard again. This time, she hadn't noticed the chair at all, and her arms and legs hit the floor painfully.

"Ah! Avery, you damn brat! How dare you hurt me again and again?"

Marga was truly on the verge of breaking down. She couldn't win in words, and she couldn't land a single hit either.

She was angry and hurt. She had never suffered like this in her entire life.

She grabbed her phone and called her dad.

"Daddy… sob… I got beat up at school. Please come help me…"

Marga was crying for real now. Her leg was scraped and bleeding.

"Don't say nonsense. There are so many classmates watching. When did I ever hit you?

I only moved my card back when you hit me. Is that wrong?

Sigh, seriously, how can someone not hit the target and still throw a tantrum and roll on the floor?"

Avery saw that her opponent was too weak. She didn't even feel like playing with her anymore. So lame. She might accidentally kill her before even making a move.

That table and chair were also unusable now, so she had to pick up her backpack and walk to the door.

From now on, she'd just sit here. Being near the door made it easier to come and go.

At that moment, a tall man walked in, and they ended up face to face.

Avery was stunned. This man was so handsome. She really liked him.

His facial features were sharp like they were carved, thick eyebrows, bright eyes, a tall nose, and smooth lines that made him look powerful and commanding.

But in his eyes, there was a sharpness, like a sword just drawn from its sheath.

He looked like someone who had seen hard times. His gaze showed alertness and ruthlessness.

He was like a lone wolf in the dark night, wild and untamed.

It wasn't just his handsome face. It was the raw masculine energy that radiated from him. His aura was impossible to ignore.

That didn't even matter. What mattered was that Avery felt the killing intent from him.

And that killing intent wasn't something he was forcing. It came naturally from him.

He must be someone who had survived countless life-and-death situations, someone who had walked through piles of corpses and oceans of blood.

Avery smiled lightly at him. Very good. A man like this.

She liked him. From today on, she would make him hers.

She wanted to have children with him, so their kids wouldn't be weak.

While she was completely love-struck, Asher also froze for a second when he saw her.

Because in his past life, this woman had already died yesterday. But now she was here, at school.

Did she also come back to life? Did she change her fate from yesterday?

But whether she lived or died had nothing to do with him. Asher moved his body to the side and walked past Avery.

"Hey, Asher, why don't we sit together?"

Avery reached out to stop him. It wasn't easy to find someone like her, and she didn't want to let him leave so soon.

"I'm not interested in you, and I don't want to sit with you. Let go."

Asher looked at her coldly and threw her hand off him.

"Just because you're not interested now doesn't mean you won't be later.

Asher, how about we try dating for a while?

Maybe you'll suddenly find out that your type is exactly someone like me."

Avery smiled and grabbed his big hand again, quickly locking their fingers together.

"Let go. Don't mess with me. Or you'll regret it."

Asher tried to throw her hand off again, but even after two tries, he couldn't shake her off.

Looks like this woman had gotten stronger. She probably wasn't reborn, someone else must be in her body.

"I don't want fruit. I want you. Asher, I like you. Can I be your woman?"

Avery quickly used her other hand to grab his other hand too.

Then she pulled both his arms behind his back, making it look like she was hugging him.
