Chapter 24 - 24

During lunch, Avery and Miles were still standing in line for food.

Rose deliberately pretended to trip, but the tray in her hand was flung straight toward Avery.

Avery quickly pulled Miles aside, hiding behind a man nearby.

"Ah!"

The man was instantly splashed all over with food.

"You filthy b*tch, are you looking for trouble?"

The man immediately got angry and raised his hand to hit Rose.

They weren't in the same class and didn't know each other, so he had no reason to be polite.

"Senior, please don't be angry, it's not what you think. Let me explain, okay?"

Seeing the slap coming, Rose quickly leaned into the man's arms.

If she got slapped by a man, her face would be ruined.

"Fine, then explain it properly. If not, you'll spend the night with me."

The man, seeing her fall into his arms, tried to wrap his arm around her.

This woman was beautiful—having her for a night wouldn't be a loss.

"It was their fault. I was holding my tray just fine, but she tripped me.

That's why I couldn't hold the tray steady. She should take full responsibility for this."

Feeling the man about to hug her, Rose quickly pulled away and immediately pointed at Avery.

"Senior, if you're really angry, take it out on her.

She's so wicked, she didn't even think about the consequences of tripping me."

Rose appeared pitiful as she lightly tugged on the man's sleeve.

"My pretty little girl, don't cry. I'll teach her a lesson for you."

The man, seeing her like this, immediately felt sorry for her.

"Why did you trip her? Now I'm all dirty, what are you going to do to make it up to me?"

The man turned around and saw Avery. He couldn't say anything too harsh because this woman was even more beautiful.

"I didn't trip her. I was still a good distance from her. It was her who spilled food on you. You should ask her to take responsibility."

Avery also pointed at Rose, saying the man was clueless, but bold in his thinking.

"Senior, she's lying. She's my sister, and she's very domineering at home. She always bullies me.

Senior, please help me. If this continues, I'll be bullied to death. Boo-hoo."

Rose cried as she tugged at the man's clothes, shaking him gently.

"Looks so pretty, yet a heart full of poison, huh?

But it's fine, if you'll spend the night with me, it won't matter how much poison you have."

The man looked at Rose's pitiful expression and immediately felt protective.

He turned to Avery, speaking more rudely, and even tried to touch her face.

"Why are you believing whatever she says? If she asks you to die later, will you go?"

Miles felt the man had something wrong with him, or maybe he was just clueless, not realizing Rose was just using him.

"Who are you to say anything?" The man looked at her, his eyes focused on her chest.

"You're looking at my chest again. Do you want me to gouge your eyes out?"

Miles saw his lecherous eyes and was really disgusted.

"Hey, do you know why she treats you like a fool? Because you're lustful, gullible, and like to drink green tea, so others use you as cannon fodder."

"Do you know who my boyfriend is? She definitely won't dare to tell you. If you don't believe me, just ask her."

Avery pulled Miles behind her, in case this crazy man made a move, afraid she wouldn't be able to fight him off.

"Who is her boyfriend?"

The man immediately came to his senses upon hearing the word "boyfriend." There are many rich young men at this school. If he's really someone untouchable, he couldn't risk ruining his family for a woman.

"Senior, how could you believe what she says? She just doesn't want to take responsibility. She doesn't have a boyfriend. She's already been kicked out by our family. Who would want her now?"

Rose had already taken a quick look around while they were talking. She didn't see Asher. Men like him, rich and powerful, rarely eat in the cafeteria. They all have their own private kitchens.

"Which Lu family?"

Hearing "Lu family," the man wanted to clarify. That was also a powerful family.

"The Lu family, one of the top ten richest families. My father is Mr. Lu, and my brother is July. Senior, have you heard of my father or my brother?"

Rose spoke softly. In this school, everyone knows about the rich families. But she wanted to ask on purpose so that the man wouldn't dare to make a move on her.

"Of course, I've heard of them. I didn't know you were the Lu family's young lady. I apologize for my behavior earlier."

Upon hearing that she was from the Lu family, the man quickly apologized.

He hadn't realized he almost tried to sleep with the Lu family's young lady, and he was relieved he hadn't offended her.

"It's fine. So, do you think I would lie? Senior, you can now seek justice from them."

Rose said, then looked at Avery and gave her a provocative smile.

"There's no need, since you're from the Lu family. There's no reason for you to lie."

The man chose to firmly believe her words. He turned to Avery and loudly said:

"Alright, I admit my mistake today. I won't ask you to spend the night with me anymore. But you'll have to wash my clothes and give me a bath. Look at my face, hair, and clothes; they're all covered in food and soup. You're responsible for this. My request isn't excessive."

Before the man could finish speaking, Avery interrupted him.

"Sorry, I don't wash clothes because my boyfriend does it for me."

"If you really want me to wash your clothes, I'll give my boyfriend a call and have him come to do it."

Avery immediately took out her phone and dialed Asher's number.

If she didn't have to fight, she preferred not to. She didn't want Asher's enemies to know too much about her.

"Asher, someone wants me to wash his clothes by hand."

"My hands are so delicate, how could I wash his clothes? You should come and do it for me instead, so they don't say we're bullying him and being irresponsible."

Asher was eating when he received her call. Hearing her voice, he knew she wanted him to back her up.

He hadn't refused, though. If he wanted his uncle's help, he knew he had to make things more real.
