Chapter 25 - 25

"Oh, I don't know him either, so I'll let him speak for himself now."

Avery held up her phone and handed it over to the man.

"Did you hear what my boyfriend said? Quickly, reply to him.

He's the famous Young Master of the Shangguan family, and he's here to help you with your laundry.

That's your fortune from your past life, so you should be grateful, haha."

Avery saw the man already scared, his face turning pale.

Avery deliberately held the phone near his mouth, making him say the address.

"No, absolutely not, I can't do it, Young Master Asher, please don't misunderstand.

This is all a misunderstanding, I apologize, I'll leave now, please spare me this time!"

When the man heard the name Shangguan, his legs started trembling in fear.

In the capital, anyone with the surname Shangguan is from the Shangguan family.

Even if they are not the main branch, they are still related.

No matter what, they're not someone he could afford to offend.

Now, neither side is someone he can mess with, so he can only accept his fate, apologize, and admit his mistake.

"Next time, be smarter, don't let others use you as a pawn.

It's obvious that woman can't be offended, and she deliberately pushed you out to get you killed."

Avery hung up the phone and said a few words on purpose. Though the man wouldn't dare to do anything to Rose, she wanted him to remember today's incident, so in the future, he'd have some reservations about that green tea bitch.

Avery's actions weren't out of kindness but to prevent Rose from causing more trouble and annoying her.

"Avery, you just said you're sisters, so you should know that her boyfriend is Young Master Asher, right?

You're not being very kind. You're pushing me into the fire pit."

The man gritted his teeth and said, bowing slightly to Rose before turning and leaving.

It was his own fault for being so impulsive earlier. Getting food splattered on him was deserved. Now, he could only accept it and walk away.

"Hey, do you think that beautiful woman's boyfriend is really Young Master Asher?"

Others grew curious about this.

"I don't know. We're not in the same class, but maybe we can ask someone from Class One later."

Once the man left, those watching the scene realized there was no more drama, and they started to disperse.

However, gossip was inevitable, especially about Rose.

The rude comments were whispered but still audible.

"Avery, you bitch, your parents will take care of you sooner or later."

Rose was furious at their words and stomped her feet, but she didn't dare to approach that bitch, afraid she might get beaten.

"Oh, I'll wait for that. But I hope you can do it soon.

Otherwise, I might not have enough time and patience to wait, haha."

Avery enjoyed watching Rose's frustrated expression, her helplessness was something Avery liked. At least it made her life a bit more interesting. From time to time, she could just step on her face for fun.

That night, Avery and Miles went to a bar.

"Miles, should we get a private room?"

Miles noticed how crowded the main hall was and suggested going to a private room so they wouldn't have to mingle with others.

"I kind of want to stay out here, though. It's more lively when there are more people. You don't like it?"

Avery asked, curious if Miles really didn't like the idea. If so, she would go along with her to the private room.

"It's not that I don't like it. It's just that my dad doesn't let me use his identity in places like this."

The two of us are both girls, so we're afraid we might be taken advantage of in a place like this."

Miles actually loved having fun too; she was just always restricted by her family.

"Then you don't have to be scared. I'm here. I won't let anything happen to you."

Avery pulled her over and got a table in the main hall.

There were people dancing in the ballroom, and others performing on stage—singing or dancing.

The atmosphere was lively. Whenever Avery was sober now, she enjoyed being in noisy, vibrant places like this.

Soon, they ordered some drinks and snacks.

"Avery, can you sing?"

Miles saw people performing and got a little excited. She really liked singing.

"I can't, but I enjoy listening. Can you? Want to go up and try?"

Avery looked at a can of beer, felt it seemed okay, and took a small sip.

"Alright! Wait for me, I'll sing you a song."

Miles ran toward the stage right away.

Avery clapped for her while tasting a little of every snack they had ordered.

She sang beautifully, and many people were praising her.

"Hey beauty, your singing is amazing! Sing another one!"

A man called out loudly as she stepped off the stage.

"I'm tired, need a break. I'll sing again later."

Hearing all those compliments made Miles really happy inside.

"Which table are you at, beauty? Let me treat you tonight."

A man immediately offered to pay her bill.

"No thanks, but I appreciate it!"

Miles quickly walked past the men.

"Miles, your singing is really beautiful!"

Avery didn't understand much about music, but she knew it sounded great and she really enjoyed it.

"Thanks! I don't really have many hobbies, just this one—singing.

Come on, Avery, I'm so happy today. Let's drink!"

Miles raised her glass for a toast.

"Yeah. Miles, have you ever thought about becoming a singer?"

Avery thought her voice was so good that she started thinking about starting a record company.

Asher had given her twenty billion, and she didn't know what to do with it. Investing in a business seemed like a great idea.

"Never thought about it. My family wouldn't allow it. They say the entertainment world is too messy, and I don't have the ability to protect myself."

Miles did want to pursue something in that direction, but her dad was completely against her entering the industry.

"Then how about we start one together? If we're the bosses, no one can mess with us."

Avery didn't worry about things like that.

"I'll think about it. For now, let's just drink, haha."

Miles took another drink. Her dad wouldn't let her rely on his name or connections.

If she just entered the industry like this, it would really be troublesome.

She could easily get bullied. Thinking of all that made her nervous.

After a while, she got back on stage and sang another song, this time a love song.

The cheers and whistles from the crowd were even louder than before.

As she stepped off the stage, a man blocked her path.
