Chapter 454 - Chapter 455: Sleepwalking

Future Bulma looked at Vados, who was leaning against Kaito's chest, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly.

She whispered quietly to Trunks beside her,

"Trunks, is this Miss Vados really that legendary Angel?"

A bead of cold sweat rolled down Trunks' forehead as he replied,

"Mom, don't say that—she is an Angel. She's just a bit more casual in front of Kaito-san. Normally she's super serious. I don't even dare to look at her!"

"Then what exactly is the relationship between her and this Kaito-san? And also, the past me… and that woman—Eighteen?"

Trunks shook his head, looking just as confused.

The future world had already turned into such a mess, and he'd barely ever spoken to a girl—he really didn't understand anything about such matters.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have fallen so hopelessly for Mai, who was decades older than him.

Eighteen stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at the seemingly asleep Vados.

Kaito wanted to push Vados away, but she was stuck to him like glue—it would take some real force to get her off.

Helpless, Kaito turned to Future Bulma and asked,

"Excuse me, is there an extra room here? Looks like she's drunk. I'll just let her sleep it off."

Vados instantly opened her eyes. She lifted her head until her face was almost pressed against Kaito's.

Her breath was cool, with a faint sweetness of alcohol mixed in.

"Who are you calling drunk? Angels don't get drunk!"

With that, she crossed her arms and sat up straight beside him, pretending to look serious.

But that only made her look even stranger—everyone else exchanged puzzled glances.

Future Bulma gave an apologetic smile and said,

"I'm so sorry. Next time I'll make sure to prepare some non-alcoholic drinks..."

Vados immediately objected, raising her voice,

"No! I want the ones with alcohol! They taste way better that way!"

Bang!

Kaito flicked her on the forehead, scowling.

"Alright, enough already! Don't you know your own limits? You're about to turn into Shalria at this rate!"

"Ow... huh? Who's Shalria?"

"A cute idiot."

"Wait, are you calling me cute? Well, even though that word sounds weird when used on an Angel, I'll graciously accept it!"

"So you just ignored the 'idiot' part, huh?"

Vados let out a small "hmph" and turned her head away, finally quieting down.

Eighteen, however, sat right down on Kaito's lap as if to make a statement.

Bulma took the last remaining seat beside him.

Three women, one man—Kaito had suddenly become the center of their stage.

Calm as ever, he looked toward Trunks and asked,

"So, are we going to deal with those two androids now?"

Trunks snapped out of his daze, glanced at the darkening sky outside, and shook his head.

"Let's call it a day. It's already late, and those two rarely move around at night. Everyone should rest here for the night."

With Kaito's current level of perception, finding the two androids would've been child's play. But seeing Vados in this state, even he thought it best to just rest for the night.

That evening, they divided up the rooms.

Future Bulma stayed with her past self—there was plenty they wanted to talk about.

Eighteen chose to room with Vados; she had a strong feeling that the Angel was dangerous. Of course, it wasn't the kind of danger involving battle—she just didn't want to let her guard down around Kaito.

That left one room for Kaito and Trunks. But Trunks insisted that someone of Kaito's status—someone who had come to save their world—should sleep comfortably, so he offered to take the sofa.

Even though Kaito told him there was no need and that he could go without sleep, Trunks was strangely stubborn about it.

Seeing that, Kaito gave up and took the room for himself.

The night passed peacefully.

...

The next morning, Kaito looked at the sleeping Vados beside him and fell into deep thought.

Since Trunks had given up the room, he'd actually slept soundly for once. But to wake up and find Vados next to him—now that was unexpected.

When she suppressed her energy, even someone as perceptive as Kaito couldn't detect her. He had no idea when she'd snuck into his bed.

Vados was wearing a light green silk nightgown. One of the straps had slipped down to her elbow, revealing far too much.

Kaito pressed a hand to his forehead and used the other to gently push her back.

Vados' long lashes trembled as she slowly opened her eyes, meeting his gaze for a brief moment.

Her expression was perfectly calm. She sat up leisurely, rubbed her eyes, and said lazily,

"Morning, Kaito. You're up early, huh?"

If someone walked in right now, they'd probably think the two of them always shared a bed.

Kaito glanced around, confirming that this was indeed his room from last night. Then he turned back to her.

"When did you come into my room?"

Vados blinked, feigning surprise.

"Eh? Oh, right—this is your room! How did I end up here?"

"You're asking me? Pull up your strap already—it's falling off! What if someone sees you like this?"

Vados looked down at the strap on her arm and smiled mischievously. Instead of fixing it, she leaned closer and whispered,

"What's the matter, our dear Kaito-sama getting shy?"

Kaito raised an eyebrow and swept his golden eyes over her from head to toe.

Under that piercing gaze, Vados couldn't hold out for long. She'd only meant to tease him a little, but the moment he got serious, she immediately backed down.

She quickly straightened her clothes and tried to compose herself, though the blush on her cheeks betrayed her.

After a couple of fake coughs, she said seriously,

"I haven't slept in ages. I must've dozed off and wandered here unconsciously. Maybe I was drawn to your energy—it's my body acting on its own. You know what that's called? The Perfect Ultra Instinct. Surely you understand that, right?"

Kaito folded his arms, watching her nonsense with amusement.

"So that's what Ultra Instinct is, huh? Turns out the 'perfect' part refers to sleepwalking. You really do open my eyes, Vados."
