Chapter 461 - Chapter 462: Gods and Angels

Marcarita glanced at Vados with a puzzled look, not understanding what was supposed to be wrong with the "show" she was watching.

Just as Vados was about to speak, another streak of colorful light flashed across the sky—it was the late arrival, Whis.

When he saw Vados and Marcarita together, he froze in shock.

With a look of disbelief, he asked,

"Why are you two here?"

Vados and Marcarita exchanged a knowing glance, answering in perfect sync,

"We're all siblings. What's wrong with dropping by to visit you?"

The two of them sounded so confident and self-righteous that even Whis was left speechless.

He glanced at the gray, misty surroundings, then at Marcarita's tattered clothes, and his confusion deepened.

Vados quickly changed the subject and asked,

"Why did you come here alone? Where's your God of Destruction?"

At that, Whis looked at Kaito and replied,

"The last battle drained him quite a lot. He's still asleep."

Marcarita tilted her head curiously.

"Beerus is sleeping too? Did he fight with Champa again? Looks like they went at it really hard this time!"

Whis shook his head, his gaze landing on Kaito.

"This time, it wasn't them fighting each other. In fact, they teamed up. Their opponent was this young man—Kaito."

"What, him again!?"

Marcarita's eyes widened at the sight of Kaito.

Unbelievable—he'd already fought a God of Destruction, and now he'd gone up against angels too. This guy was something else!

Kaito remained calm and composed, as if putting two Gods of Destruction into a coma had absolutely nothing to do with him.

Marcarita thought of Jiren from her own universe. She'd once believed Jiren, whose power rivaled that of a God of Destruction, was already the strongest mortal to exist. But now, here was Kaito—someone even stronger.

Marcarita had experienced Kaito's absurd strength firsthand.

From the battle just now, she was certain that if it continued, she, an angel, would have been utterly defeated.

And she could tell Kaito hadn't even gone all out. Without the Grand Priest and Zeno existing, Kaito would undoubtedly be the most powerful being across the Twelve Universes.

But why would someone with such power remain completely unknown? Marcarita really wanted to know where Kaito came from.

Kaito, however, had no interest in answering. Naturally, he reached out and took Vados's hand—something that made Whis raise his eyebrows in surprise.

Even Vados felt shy in front of her younger siblings. She whispered softly,

"What are you doing? Whis and Marcarita are still here..."

Kaito replied indifferently,

"So what? That troublesome little sister of yours has finally calmed down. Let's go back."

Marcarita immediately exploded.

"Hey! Who are you calling troublesome!? That's slander! Do you even know what slander means!?"

Kaito casually dug a finger in his ear and said lazily,

"You're so noisy... No wonder you wear twin ponytails like a little kid."

Boom!

Kaito's words struck Marcarita like a thunderclap.

An angel who had lived for countless years—called a "little kid" in public!

If anyone else had said that, she would've erased them from existence on the spot. But facing Kaito, all she could do was glare and clench her fists, her whole body trembling in silent fury.

Marcarita's arrogance was famous even among angels. She often relied on the power of her universe to mock and provoke others, especially Vados—she'd never once acted like a younger sister.

But today, she'd finally met her match.

Kaito didn't hold back at all—not only had he beaten her up, he'd nearly made her cry with his words.

Thinking of that humiliation, Marcarita bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes.

Whis watched her with surprise. Normally, after being so humiliated, Marcarita would've gone berserk, maybe even started another fight.

But now, she looked like a little girl who'd just been scolded—hurt and pitiful.

As her older brother, Whis felt he should probably comfort her.

"Marcarita, you don't look too good. Why don't you come over to my place for a bit? It's been a while since we talked, hasn't it?"

He shouldn't have said that.

Marcarita instantly spun around, glaring at him so fiercely that Whis flinched.

"What are you talking about!? I'm perfectly fine! And what's so great about your place anyway? I'm not going!"

Whis scratched his head awkwardly.

"Don't say that, come on. I could sing for you."

"Are you joking? Everyone knows how bad your singing is! Just stop talking!"

Having been shot down, Whis sighed and shut his mouth, folding his hands behind his back.

Kaito glanced at the furious Marcarita and said to Vados,

"Your sister's really nothing like you. How can two angels be so different?"

A gentle smile appeared on Vados's face, her voice soft and tender.

"Then... do you like me?"

The question was so direct that Kaito froze for a moment—and even Marcarita's jaw dropped in disbelief, her anger vanishing in an instant.

Though Vados looked calm and smiling, her heart was racing. Kaito could feel the sweat forming in her palm.

After a moment of silence, he answered slowly,

"I do."

At those two simple words, Vados's smile blossomed even brighter. She leaned closer and whispered,

"Good. Then let's go. Eighteen and the others must be waiting."

"Yeah."

Kaito opened a portal, holding Vados's hand as they stepped through, leaving a stunned Marcarita and a thoroughly confused Whis behind.

Marcarita stiffly turned to Whis.

"Whis... you heard what they just said, right?"

Whis tilted his head.

"Yeah, I did. Why?"

"...Are you made of wood!? That was basically a confession! According to what I learned on Earth, the next step is marriage!"

"Eh? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration? I thought Vados was just interested in Kaito. Maybe she just wants him to be her God of Destruction?"

"You don't understand anything! An angel in love with a mortal—that's huge news! I can't miss this! I'm going after them!"

"Kaito isn't exactly a mortal though. He's a god too."

"Ugh, who cares about that! This is the best drama ever! You go home—I'm watching this show play out!"
