Chapter 462 - Chapter 463: The Grand Priest

Under Whis's bewildered gaze, Marcarita turned into a stream of light and shot toward Earth.

By the time Whis came back to his senses, the space around him was completely empty—no stars, no planets, just silence.

He glanced at his staff and muttered,

"So, one angel's fallen in love, and the other went to watch the show?"

"Is it really fine for the Sixth and Eleventh Universes to be without their angels? Aren't they afraid the Grand Priest will find out?"

Shaking his head helplessly, Whis decided it was best not to get involved in these matters. He'd better just go back and... play with his cat—no, watch over his own God of Destruction.

Sigh! Angels as diligent and responsible as himself were truly rare these days.

...

Meanwhile, on Earth—

Seeing Kaito and Vados return, Bulma and Eighteen immediately cheered and ran over excitedly.

Eighteen carefully looked Kaito up and down, confirming he wasn't injured before letting out a sigh of relief.

Bulma, meanwhile, clenched her fists and shouted,

"Kaito! That arrogant woman—you took care of her, right? I knew it, you're the strongest!"

Kaito smiled and nodded.

"She's probably calmed down now. She shouldn't be causing any more trouble."

Just as he finished speaking, Marcarita's voice suddenly rang out,

"Talking behind my back again! How was I the one causing trouble?"

Everyone turned to see Marcarita standing there with her hands on her hips, looking thoroughly indignant.

Kaito frowned.

"How did you end up following us here? Don't you have your own universe?"

Marcarita immediately grew furious, pointing at Vados.

"If Vados can come, why can't I? She's not from this universe either!"

"I invited Vados here. You, on the other hand, showed up uninvited, got it? Can you at least have some self-awareness?"

"You... Hmph! I don't care! I'll come and go between universes whenever I want! I'm staying here!"

Marcarita crossed her arms, her posture radiating defiance.

Kaito raised an eyebrow, rolling his wrists as he prepared to step forward.

Seeing this, Vados quickly grabbed his arm and said softly,

"Alright, alright. That's just how Marcarita is—her personality's a bit much, but she's not actually bad. Let's just ignore her. As long as she doesn't cause trouble, let her have some fun on Earth."

Marcarita stuck out her tongue.

"I'm not causing trouble—I'm just here to watch the show!"

At that, Vados's expression darkened as she suddenly remembered what kind of "show" Marcarita had mentioned before.

"What show? Didn't I tell you to stop watching that kind of thing?"

"I'll watch it if I want to! This one's got a special cast—unique across all twelve universes! I have to see it!"

Her gaze flickered between Kaito and Vados meaningfully.

Vados instantly blushed, guilt flashing across her face as she darted a quick glance toward Eighteen and stammered,

"What nonsense are you spouting? Keep this up and I'll team up with Kaito to throw you off Earth!"

That threat actually worked. Marcarita instantly froze. She already knew she couldn't beat Kaito, and if Vados joined in too, she'd stand no chance at all.

Unless she called in the Grand Priest himself—which she obviously couldn't—she'd be crushed between them.

Feeling utterly small, pitiful, and helpless, she had no choice but to shut her mouth and act like a well-behaved, quiet twin-tailed angel.

Kaito stretched his back lazily and said,

"Alright, let's head home. That little warm-up felt pretty good."

Everyone's gaze unconsciously shifted to Marcarita's tattered angelic attire.

Startled, Marcarita quickly tugged at her skirt—which had become noticeably shorter—and with a thought, restored her clothes to their pristine state.

But that only made things worse. Seeing the amused smirks on everyone's faces, her lips began to tremble.

Her grievances overflowed—her mouth twisted, and it looked like she was about to cry.

Vados's heart softened immediately. She stepped forward and hugged her gently.

"What's wrong? You were fine just a moment ago."

Marcarita finally remembered that Vados was her elder sister. Throwing her arms around Vados, she cried out,

"They're bullying me! Especially that Kaito—I can't even beat him! It's infuriating!"

Vados chuckled.

"You're an angel—who could possibly bully you? You're just overthinking things. Alright, stay on Earth for a few days, then go back. Your God of Destruction is still in hibernation, remember?"

"Hmph! Then I'll stay a few extra days! Vermouth already knows where I am, and he's not the type to cause trouble!"

"Fine, but you'd better not stir up any more chaos."

"I won't! It's just that my place is so boring. I'm definitely staying here longer this time!"

...

In the Palace of Zeno—

The Grand Priest stood with his hands clasped behind his back, gazing thoughtfully toward the Seventh Universe.

"It seems a remarkable battle has taken place there. One of the energies feels familiar—Marcarita's, I believe. But what's this other power? Why does it feel so... foreign?"

He extended one hand, and a staff appeared before him—similar to the ones used by Vados and the others, except that the crystal orb at its tip was pitch-black.

The Grand Priest gripped it tightly, eyes fixed on the glowing sphere.

A faint light flickered, and within the orb, the image of Marcarita's earlier battle came into view.

But the figure of her opponent—Kaito—remained shrouded in dense mist, his face completely obscured.

The Grand Priest frowned. His staff's authority surpassed that of all other angels—it could reveal anything happening in any universe.

Yet this was the first time he had ever encountered such an anomaly.

He had also glimpsed Vados's presence earlier, which made things even more puzzling.

A small, insignificant Seventh Universe had somehow attracted two angels from other universes—and a mysterious powerhouse as well.

This certainly piqued the Grand Priest's curiosity.

Staring at his staff, he murmured to himself,

"Vados didn't seem to intervene on Marcarita's behalf... was that fight merely a sparring match? Whis also arrived later—so what exactly is the relationship among those three and that mysterious being?"

Probing with his staff, he quickly located them. Whis was dutifully attending to his own God of Destruction, while the other two were both on a planet called Earth.

From that, he easily deduced that the mysterious fighter who had clashed with Marcarita must also be on Earth.

After some thought, he decided to summon Whis first to confirm the details.

Lifting the staff to his lips, he spoke,

"Whis, can you hear me? This is the Grand Priest. Come to me immediately—I have something to ask you."
