Chapter 478 - Chapter 479: Haunted House

On one side, Vados and Kaito were fooling around, while on the other side, the Grand Priest was holding the Omni-King in his arms as they went around the carousel again and again.

The Omni-King didn't know whether he'd gotten bored in the palace or what, but today he was unusually excited. The carousel had already changed passengers countless times, yet he remained stuck to the Grand Priest like he'd been welded in place, showing no intention of getting off.

Even the always-composed Grand Priest had begun to show a look of utter despair on his face.

Even Marcarita, watching from below, felt like she was about to fall asleep. Seeing that the Omni-King had no intention of getting off anytime soon, she secretly leaned toward Kaito and said,

"Kaito, let's go play somewhere else. This is so boring!"

Kaito didn't want to stay here either, but when he saw the Grand Priest inside with that tortured expression, he hesitated and asked,

"Is it really okay to leave your Omni-King here like this?"

"Oh come on, what could possibly go wrong? Father is still here, isn't he? Relax, nothing will happen!"

Kaito turned to Vados, and Vados offered a small nod, clearly indicating she didn't want to stay here any longer either.

Since all three felt the same, Kaito agreed, sent a quick telepathic message to the Grand Priest, and then left the area with the two angels.

The Grand Priest internally cried, looking at the highly enthusiastic Omni-King in his arms. With the Omni-King's sense of time, he gloomily wondered whether they were really going to ride this carousel until the end of time.

Compared to the miserable Grand Priest, Kaito's side was far more enjoyable.

After leaving the carousel area, Vados and Marcarita finally let themselves go. They tried every good food and fun activity the place had to offer.

Marcarita took a lick of her strawberry-flavored ice cream, a satisfied expression appearing on her face.

She held the ice cream up to Kaito's mouth and insisted,

"This ice cream tastes amazing! Kaito, try it!"

A mischievous grin crossed Kaito's face. He leaned forward and swallowed the ice cream in one bite, then commented,

"Mm. It really does taste good."

Marcarita blankly stared at the lonely cone remaining in her hand and muttered,

"Kaito… are you even human?"

Vados tried to hold back her laughter as she added,

"Marcarita, did you forget? Kaito is now our direct superior—Dragon God—he's the supreme deity in charge of three universes."

Marcarita's lips drooped. She shoved the cone into her mouth and began crunching it aggressively, as if she held a grudge against it.

Kaito glanced at her, then flipped his hand. A large strawberry ice cream appeared as if by magic. Marcarita's eyes went wide.

With a wicked smile, Kaito waved the ice cream temptingly in front of her and asked,

"Want it?"

Marcarita nodded vigorously and reached for it.

Kaito dodged her hand and said,

"If you want it, call me 'Kaito-san.'"

To Kaito's surprise, Marcarita didn't even hesitate. She blurted it out immediately—then leaned in and planted a loud kiss on his cheek, leaving behind a strawberry-scented mark.

Her bold reaction stunned Kaito, and he didn't resist when she took the ice cream from his hand.

Vados sighed and said,

"Looks more like you're rewarding her than teasing her."

Marcarita nibbled the ice cream delicately, her big eyes curling into crescent moons as she smiled sweetly at Kaito—clearly feeling victorious.

After eating, the three continued exploring the amusement park. None of them were particularly interested in the rides.

For beings like them, things like roller coasters weren't even children's games.

And it couldn't be helped—roller coasters were meant to thrill through speed and the sensation of weightlessness. But they were gods capable of flying faster than light. That sensation simply didn't exist for them anymore.

They wandered around casually until they ended up in front of a haunted house.

Marcarita looked at it curiously and asked,

"Kaito, what are ghosts? Are humans really afraid of them?"

Kaito thought for a moment and explained,

"They're basically spirits from the underworld. Most people are afraid of ghosts."

"Eh? I don't get it. What's scary about spirits? They don't even have bodies."

Kaito shrugged. For gods with transcendent power, ghosts were nothing. But for normal people, they were frightening enough to send someone straight to the hospital.

Besides, not all spirits lacked physical form. Someone like Goku—because of his connections—had no such restriction and could even walk around the living world with a halo over his head.

Once Marcarita learned that ghosts were basically spirits, she immediately lost all interest. But just as she turned around to leave, she caught sight of the advertisement next to the haunted house.

It read: "Best Experience for Couples!"

Beside the words was a picture of a girl clinging tightly to a boy's arms.

Seeing this, Marcarita's big eyes sparkled mischievously. She pretended to be very interested and said,

"Actually, experiencing human activities once in a while sounds fun. Let's go inside!"

Vados immediately saw through her intentions and gave her a meaningful look.

Marcarita shrank her neck guiltily under Vados's gaze.

Kaito didn't notice their exchange. He just felt that since they were here, they might as well try at least one ride.

He nodded and said,

"Sure, let's go check it out."

But Vados suddenly said,

"I'll sit this one out. You and Marcarita can go in. I'll wait outside."

Marcarita's eyes lit up instantly. She shot Vados a grateful look. Vados gave a small smile and patted her shoulder.

Kaito didn't find it strange at all. Vados was more mature, so it made sense she wasn't interested in haunted houses.

Marcarita naturally grabbed Kaito's arm and dragged him inside.

The dim environment meant nothing to them. Even the flashlights handed out at the entrance were utterly useless.

After they passed the first room, they reached a corridor filled with hanging cloth strips. Hidden among them was a "female ghost" crouched down with her hair covering her face, clearly waiting to scare guests.

Of course, her disguise was meaningless before Kaito and Marcarita. But Marcarita pretended not to notice and walked forward.

The female ghost leaped out when they approached, clawing the air and screeching at Marcarita.

Marcarita paused for a moment, then dramatically shrieked and dove straight into Kaito's arms.

Kaito said helplessly,

"Weren't you the one who said at the entrance that you weren't scared? What kind of acting is this?"
