"Hazel Morgan, I have eyes. I can see how you usually treat me. Do you really think I can't feel it?" Ronan Lee stared coldly at Hazel. "Tell me, why do you keep targeting Sylvia Byrne? Why can't you even leave her child alone? What are you really up to?"
Hazel instinctively clutched the hem of her dress, shocked that Ronan knew about this. No, she had been careful. Ronan couldn't possibly know. It must have been Martin Riley.
The thought of it made Hazel feel a deep sense of despair. She had devoted herself to Martin, only to be betrayed by the man she loved the most. But she couldn't control her heart. She convinced herself that Martin's actions were all because of that wretched Sylvia. Surely, Sylvia must have said something to Martin to turn him against her.
"I was just too angry at the time, that's why I did those things. I know I was wrong, and I promise it won't happen again."
