Chapter 9 - It deserves an apology...

[Chat Comments]

[Bro, if someone kept drowning you every day, you'd fear water too!][The truth is out! That Squirtle really does have hydrophobia—and it's man-made!][This streamer is amazing. How the hell did he figure that out?][Unbelievable! Are people really this stupid?][So irresponsible. Even if it's my first time raising a Pokémon, I'd at least take time to understand their habits!]

Lovy's appraisal skills were finally vindicated, and no one was happier than his small group of loyal fans.

CarrotLady: "Told you! I always believed in Lovy! Now everyone can see it! If you haven't followed yet, now's the time!"NutriYarn: "This is what 'Kabi Appraisal' is all about! Lovy said Squirtle has hydrophobia—and it was true!"SpringBloom: "Let professionals do professional things. Show some respect!"

"Don't just stand there—go get your Squirtle out of the water!" Lovy barked.

The stream's view count was spiking, and his appraisal skills were earning serious respect again.

But Lovy couldn't ignore the suffering of that poor Squirtle.

ArgumentChampion stood dumbfounded for a second, then rushed to pull the Squirtle out as Lovy instructed.

"Streamer... have I really been raising my Squirtle wrong this whole time? I even gave it more water than usual because I thought Water-types love being in water!"

"Liking water doesn't mean they can breathe underwater! Are you brainless?!" Lovy said, full of frustration.

At that moment, he realized that his stream wasn't just entertainment—it was a platform to educate people about Pokémon care. To help prevent tragedies like this, or at least stop them in time.

He looked at the well-behaved little Snorlax beside him and felt even more committed to that mission.

"Streamer, I was wrong! Please forgive my ignorance. I get it now—you're not acting from a script, you're legit!"

ArgumentChampion finally dropped his pride and gave Lovy a heartfelt thumbs-up.

"The one you really owe an apology to is your Squirtle," Lovy said sternly. As someone who genuinely loved Pokémon, he wanted to see everyone raise them right.

ArgumentChampion seemed to realize it. Looking at his Squirtle with deep guilt, he said:

"I'm so sorry, Squirtle. I really messed up. I used to wonder why those pet shops used such shallow tanks. I thought they were being stingy, so I filled yours all the way. I had no idea... sigh. I'm such an idiot."

"Squirtle... Squirtle!"

Despite still shaking from its trauma, the Squirtle seemed to sense its trainer's remorse and gently reached out to pat his arm, trying to comfort him.

Seeing how forgiving and empathetic this little Squirtle was, Lovy's gaze softened. How could anyone mistreat such a kind little Pokémon into developing a fear of water?

Still, it was clear—ArgumentChampion wasn't evil... just really, really dumb.

And sometimes, stupidity was just as harmful.

His username should've been a clue—"ArgumentChampion" was probably always picking fights online without even realizing it.

"Anyway, what's done is done. Just make it up to your Squirtle from now on, okay? Its hydrophobia isn't permanent. With patience and love, it'll get better," Lovy said, still a little exasperated but also relieved that ArgumentChampion seemed willing to change.

The comment section lit up again:

[Streamer is so generous and open-minded!][He's right. The one who's suffered the most is the Squirtle. Imagine if it hadn't met the streamer—it could've drowned someday!][I have to follow now. This appraisal was legendary!]

Gifts started flying in—Berries, Potions, Basic Fishing Rods, even 50-yuan Poké Balls. It was clear that the audience truly appreciated Lovy.

And then one message caught Lovy's eye:

WindClipper: "Streamer, I make highlight clips. Can I clip your videos? I don't have many followers yet…"WindClipper: [Sent a gift: Advanced Fishing Rod]

The Advanced Fishing Rod was worth 100 yuan. That was sincerity.

Lovy checked out the user's profile—barely 200 followers. But he didn't look down on that at all. Every creator starts small. He'd been there too.

"WindClipper, got your message. Clip and post whatever you like! If it helps bring people to the stream, I appreciate it!"

WindClipper: "Thanks, bro!"

Meanwhile, the chat was also spamming ArgumentChampion, reminding him to deliver on his promise to gift Lovy a Master Ball.

"No problem! I'm genuinely impressed today. I owe the streamer an apology, and I'll make it right!"

He pulled out his phone.

ArgumentChampion: [Sent a gift: Master Ball]

A shiny Master Ball appeared on screen—purple upper shell, pink "ears", black stripe with an "M" on the front. The symbol of prestige.

Lovy's heart skipped. It was his first high-value gift.

Counting everything together, his first stream had gone way better than expected.

And at that moment, the viewer count was holding steady above 100, close to 200.

Lovy felt proud.

"Alright! Let's keep going. Next up—another Pokémon appraisal!"

Riding the momentum, he continued taking calls and appraising Pokémon.

Before he knew it, Lovy had been streaming for five hours—7 p.m. to midnight.

But due to platform limitations, his viewer count peaked at just under 500 before dipping again. After all, not every call was a dramatic highlight.

"Okay folks, that's it for tonight's stream! 'Kabi Appraisal' goes live every night at 7 p.m. sharp. See you all tomorrow!"

Exhausted but fulfilled, Lovy ended the stream.

[Ding! You earned 1,321 Influence Points this stream!][Your Fame Level has increased: Level 2 – Rising Popularity!][Would you like to claim your Fame Reward Pack?]

Seeing the system message, Lovy instantly perked up.

He hadn't expected to level up after just one stream, let alone earn a reward pack.

With eager anticipation, he accepted.

[You have claimed the Fame Reward Pack. You've received the exclusive skill: Super Influence!][Skill: Super Influence][Description: Influence earned during your streams now possesses extraordinary power. You may now convert Influence Points into Pokémon Individual Values (IVs) at a ratio of 1000:1.]

Lovy's eyes lit up. IVs were nearly impossible to improve without ultra-rare items or special events.

But now, he could literally boost his Pokémon's potential through streaming alone.

He looked at his dozing Snorlax and whispered with determination:

"One day, my little Snorlax will become a powerhouse."

His current goal might be to earn money through streaming.

But in a world full of Pokémon, what kid hadn't dreamed of becoming a professional trainer?

And if he could get that license someday, it'd give his stream an added layer of credibility and prestige.

Aside from the system upgrade, Lovy checked his earnings for the stream.

After platform cuts, he'd made a solid 1,012 yuan.

He stared at the deposit in his mobile wallet for a while.

He wanted to remember that number. It was the first money he'd earned since arriving in this world, on his very first stream.

For a brand-new, unpromoted streamer, it was practically a miracle.

"Let's keep it going."

As the night deepened, Lovy's stomach growled.

He had just earned his first real paycheck. His belly was rumbling. Wasn't it time for a small indulgence?

"I want roast chicken. Yeah... kiln-roasted chicken sounds perfect."
