Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Who Are You!?

The remaining three attackers were instantly intimidated. Clutching their weapons, they didn't dare move rashly.

"You'd better tell me who sent you, or you're not crawling back down this mountain alive!" Wang Xu shouted angrily, pointing at them.

"Ma! What the hell are you doing? Go get him!"The burly man on the ground yelled furiously at his frozen companions.

"Wah!"

One of the three, a bald man, mustered his courage and swung the steel pipe in his hands directly at Wang Xu's head. This time, he didn't hold back—it was a strike meant to kill. Clearly, Wang Xu's skill had pushed them to desperation.

But Wang Xu didn't panic. He slightly tilted his body, his feet staying firmly planted. It looked dangerous, but he calmly avoided the attack.

The steel pipe missed his nose by mere centimeters. Before the attacker could pull back, Wang Xu's right hand shot out, grabbing the moving pipe with precision.

Pop! Crack!

"Ahhh! My arm! It's broken!"

With a swift twist and yank, Wang Xu dislocated two of the man's joints. The bald thug screamed as his arm was violently flung over Wang Xu's shoulder and slammed to the ground.

Whoosh! Thud!

Wang Xu then hurled the stolen pipe behind him—it shot through the air like an arrow and embedded itself into a large tree.

That completely terrified the remaining masked men.

"He's a monster! Run!"

The big guy Wang Xu had kicked earlier scrambled to his feet and dragged the two stunned thugs with him as they fled in panic.

"Unless you want your body fed to wolves, tell me who sent you!"

Wang Xu stomped on the bald man, who was still writhing on the ground, pinning him in place.

"Big bro, please! Spare me! I'll talk—I'll talk! We're from the brick factory… Chairman Zhang sent us… She said… She said it was to avenge her son…"

The bald man's face went pale with fear. He stammered the truth without resistance.

So it was Li Mei!

That wretched woman! Wang Xu hadn't wanted to stir up trouble with her, but she just had to come looking for him!?

All the rage that had been suppressed in his chest came roaring back. He felt like if he didn't let it out, he'd suffocate.

He didn't need to argue—he just needed to let it explode.

Wang Xu grabbed his hoe and stormed down the mountain, heading straight for Li Mei's brick factory.

Bang!

He stormed up to the office and smashed the wooden door in with a swing of his hoe.

Li Mei and her accountant, Liu Biao, were so frightened they trembled on the spot.

"Wang Xu! You bastard! Have you lost your mind!?"Li Mei jumped from her office chair, pointing at him.

She was in her early forties, with arched eyebrows and sharp eyes. Her shoulder-length curls and maintained appearance still gave her a touch of mature allure.

Bang! Crack!

Wang Xu lifted his hoe and brought it down on her mahogany desk, splitting it in two with a deafening crash.

"AHHHH!!"Li Mei screamed in terror.

Before she could react, Wang Xu grabbed her by the neck and lifted her off the ground.

"You bitch! You've got some nerve!"

Boom!

Liu Biao lunged at Wang Xu but was instantly kicked out the door before he could even touch him.

"Cough… You little… beast! Let go—LET GO!"

Li Mei's face went from pale to red to purple as she struggled in mid-air.

"Murder! He's killing the chairwoman! Help!!"Liu Biao, doubled over in pain, stumbled out and screamed for help.

"Li Mei! You poisonous woman! My father treated you so well—why did you have to hurt him!?"Wang Xu's eyes burned with rage as he glared at her.

"Cough cough… You bastard! I raised you all these years and you dare—"

Smack!

Wang Xu didn't let her finish. He slapped her across the face. A red palm print immediately bloomed on her cheek as she cried out in pain.

"OW! AHHH! Wang Xu, you damn brat! How dare you—"

Smack!

Another slap, this time on the other cheek.

Li Mei was stunned. Her eyes widened with fury, her legs kicked helplessly in the air. But no sound came from her mouth.

From the moment she entered the Wang household, Wang Xu had never acknowledged her as his stepmother. He had always hated her.

Wang Xu held back with those two slaps. If it weren't for living in a lawful society, he would've torn her limb from limb.

Her neck had been gripped, her face slapped—her once maintained features now looked worse than a pig's.

Thud!

Wang Xu finally let go, throwing her to the floor with a heavy thump. If he'd held on any longer, she might have actually died.

Though he was burning with fury, he hadn't lost control. All he needed was to vent—just a little.

"Huff… cough… You're living your own life, and no one's raising you… Your dad died of illness… What does that have to do with me!?"Li Mei gasped on the floor, slapping the ground while cursing.

"You damned brat! You ungrateful little bastard! I'll never forgive you! I'll avenge my son no matter what!"

She knew she couldn't win, so she began to cry and scream theatrically, trying to draw attention.

"Li Mei, don't think I'm done with just two slaps! You killed my dad, stole my family's fortune—this is just the beginning. I will settle this with you!"Wang Xu raised his hoe and stormed out of the office.

But he had barely gone a few steps before dozens of burly men surrounded him, led by the accountant.

"There he is! That bastard beat our boss! Kill him!"Liu Biao pointed and roared.

These men were kiln workers from the factory, strong and muscular from years of heavy labor. They were built like oxen—towering, tough, and relentless.

Wang Xu had greater spiritual strength than ordinary people thanks to his cultivation, but even he couldn't handle this many all at once.

"Don't let that little bastard escape! Beat him to death! Whoever kills him gets a raise!"

Li Mei stormed out with disheveled hair, screaming like a madwoman.

By now, she had completely lost her sanity, like a rabid leopard.

"Kill him!!"

"Kill him!"
