Cal slumped back in his gaming chair, eyes bleary from the glowing screen and heart sinking at the number "3" flashing in the viewer count.
"Three people..." he muttered, clicking End Stream with a sigh. "Six months of this…"
His tiny channel was a graveyard of VODs. No comments, no likes—just his own voice echoing back from the void. And yet, he tried. Late-night anime breakdowns, sports recaps with timestamped excitement, deep dives into obscure manga. He tried.
But sometimes, effort isn't enough.
Cal stood, stretching in the dim light of his room filled with posters and unopened figures. "Guess it's time to move on."
As if responding, his monitor flickered. The lights dimmed. His phone buzzed violently—and then everything turned black.
Then came the voice.
