Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Fallen Training Camp

Fallen is not an honorable title.

It symbolizes heresy, cursed hybrids, and taboo offspring between two races.

Fallen Camp - located in the deepest underground rift of the Night Realm, it is a blood cage that never sees the sun.

"You must become stronger."

"Otherwise, this world will tear you apart with its own hands."

This was the last sentence Lilith said to Su Yue before she stepped into the Fallen Camp.

She remembered it and engraved it in her bones and blood.

Su Yue was arranged in the "Seventh District", which was the most marginal training area. All the residents were descendants of the Fallen - descendants of blood clans and wolves, blood clans and humans, and even blood clans and other alien species.

Most of them are violent by nature, unstable in strength, and blurred in consciousness. They are the "hybrids" that the Night Realm is unwilling to admit, and they are also the best weapon embryos.

The training ground is made of obsidian, and the air is filled with the smell of rust and blood. She encountered a challenge on the first day she entered.

"New bastard, you want to fight for the blood core too? Get out of District 7!"

Three sturdy fallen boys blocked her way, their eyes full of contempt and bloodthirstiness.

Su Yue didn't say anything.

The power in her body was still unstable, but her spiritual sense told her: she couldn't retreat.

At the moment when the other party rushed over, she suddenly turned sideways, and the long dagger in her hand took advantage of the force and cut the cheek of one of them.

Blood splattered, and a light blood mist appeared on the ground.

"She used the 'Night Blade Technique'? Isn't this something that only the direct blood clan of the Council can learn?"

Another boy screamed, but he didn't have time to retreat-Su Yue kicked him over and put the dagger in front of his throat.

"Get out."

This was the first time she showed coldness in a battle.

She didn't love killing. But she understood that the weak had no voice.

At that moment, the fallen people around remembered this red-haired girl—calm, decisive, with a light in her eyes that was darker than the night.

A few days later, she met "her".

Noa, a girl wearing a white corset and with silver hair like snow.

She was not from District 7, but she frequently appeared outside the training ground. Her figure was as light as a night butterfly, but she was as cold as frost when fighting.

When Su Yue was almost exhausted in a simulated battle, it was Noa who used an arrow to cover her exit.

"You should thank me once, don't you?" Noa bit her candy and glanced at her.

"Why help me?" Su Yue wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth.

"Because you are interesting, Yue." She smiled, her voice as clean as a mountain spring, "very much like my former sister."

From then on, Noa became the only person she could talk to outside of training.

She told Su Yue about the dark side of the Fallen Camp: some Fallen were not sent here voluntarily, but were "selected" by the parliament as experimental subjects.

She also told Su Yue, "The Night Realm is not afraid of hybrids. What they are afraid of is that hybrids will become stronger than them one day."

"So we are the weapons, and the disobedient ones." Noah shrugged.

Su Yue began to understand that the world she lived in was more cruel than she imagined.

At the same time, Ethan stood on the observation platform at the top of the Fallen Camp, watching her performance every day.

"She adapted faster than we expected." Lilith stood beside him, her eyes scrutinizing.

"She is Vera's daughter."

"It's also... your obsession."

Ethan was silent, with a hint of complex emotions in his eyes.

Lilith raised her hand and gently pressed his chest:

"You never got over that 'Sealed Night'. You owe Vera what she owes, and you want to pay it back to her daughter."

"She has the right to choose her own destiny."

"Do you really think destiny will give her a choice?" Lilith shook her head, "You should know that the 'Fallen Plan' has begun."

"The Council will not allow her to grow independently. Sooner or later... she will become the 'backbone' of the Blood Moon Ritual."

At this moment, Su Yue was undergoing a "transformation test" that almost killed her.

The power of the Fallen needs to activate the core deep in the blood, and the way to activate it is to drink three kinds of poisonous blood - werewolf, vampire, and human.

"Mixed blood is the highest balance." The mentor said, "If you fail, your blood will devour itself."

Su Yue gritted her teeth and drank three drops of poisonous blood.

She saw the blood in her body rolling like a blazing fire, and the world in front of her twisted into a red and black illusion.

She saw her mother standing in front of the flames, looking back at her, and whispered:

"You must win, even if you win hell."

She saw Ethan's bloody oath, Noa's arrow feathers, the council's trial...

Then, she heard a low roar from deep in her heart, like a wolf, like the night, like the whisper of a god.

When she opened her eyes again, her pupils were dyed light gold, and black lines quietly appeared on her fingertips.

That night, a bloody flame ignited in the night sky of the Fallen Camp.

"Did she succeed?" Noa stood on the top of the training tower and looked into the distance.

"That is the reconstruction of the 'Mark of the Fallen'." The instructor's voice was low, "She no longer belongs to any bloodline, she is-the only one."

"She will change the rules of the Night Realm." Noa whispered, "I just hope that by then, she will still remember me."
