Chapter 260 - Chapter 260: Sir, You Are Indeed Impatient

Chapter 260: Sir, You Are Indeed Impatient

The grand hall was silent.

Only soft breaths could be heard, gradually calming as the moment grew more intense, like waiting for a long-anticipated spring rain.

Luo Wusheng slowly opened his eyes.

'The preparation phase is complete...'

The small red and black notebook in his hand closed. Its contents, modified by his cultivation talents and hidden memories, had now become fully integrated into his being.

Today… marks the first step of his journey to become a man.

This step is critical; it concerns his happiness for the rest of his life.

Countless thoughts filled his mind.

If he hadn't obtained this life-changing script, or if his first plan hadn't been to escape the deadly calamity brought about by the Buddhist monks... then he probably would have taken this step long ago.

Would it have been the first time he went to the Red Blossom Pavilion?

No… If things hadn't happened this way, he'd probably still be within the Demon Sect.

He recalled the scene of a few drained scattered cultivators describing the pleasures they got after doing dual cultivation with the member of the Joyful Lotus Domain member when they were on the ship.

Remembering those lustful scattered cultivators, Luo Wusheng couldn't help but feel a bit conflicted.

While he'd had lively conversations with them about certain matters and even inspired them with his unique insights, he couldn't shake a complex feeling.

Yes… Long Dahai and the others were practitioners of action, while he was still stuck in the realm of theoretical knowledge. Even his own sect's junior disciples… well, their experiences might surpass those scattered cultivators by far.

Sighing inwardly, Luo Wusheng glanced toward the jade pillar hiding Ling Shuangxue. All traces of sentiment vanished from his heart. He rubbed the small notebook between his fingers. Every second felt as long as a century.

He was truly anxious.

Since he was all set, why not take the initiative?

Surely, she wouldn't resist.

Her recent words could only mean one thing, and he'd made no attempt to conceal the fluctuations emanating from him while he'd been reviewing certain techniques.

If that beautiful woman had no interest, a sword would've already been heading his way.

Just as these thoughts filled his mind, a voice sounded by his ear.

"May I take a look at what Sir have in his hand?"

Her voice, hard to interpret, stirred something within him.

In his hand, there was only the small red and black notebook.

Technically, this was a dual cultivation technique from the Demon Sect and shouldn't be shared casually… but in this situation, it probably wasn't too casual, was it?

And she surely knew what was recorded on the notebook, yet she still asked…

Before his thoughts could continue, he suddenly felt a familiar prickling sensation at his waist.

A small black broken sword flicked the red and black notebook onto its blade and disappeared in the blink of an eye, reappearing the next moment, empty, in his hand.

Feeling the little sword's sense of pride through their connection, Luo Wusheng quickly understood what had just happened.

He looked at the black sword in his hand, quirking an eyebrow with a strange expression.

'Who taught this sword? Is this the education one gets in the Sword Emperor's household?'

Internally grumbling, he sent a message to the jade pillar.

"Feel free, Fairy"

No need to stand on ceremony; we'll be one family soon enough.

If his Master still supported him as an ally... he would surely understand his disciple's unique choice in these circumstances, wouldn't he?

In the cultivation world, this kind of technique was crucial in moments like this!

When his transmission ended, a soft reply came from behind the jade pillar.

"...Alright."

Not bothering with voice transmission, her words lightly echoed through the grand hall.

Soon after, a familiar aura, one like the one that had been emanating from him, began to stir from behind the pillar.

It's starting?

Luo Wusheng swallowed.

'Once she finishes reading, then...'

His previously calm heart began to stir again.

Come to think of it, he hadn't learned this woman's identity... but since she was a sword Sect peak master, she was likely one of Little Yuli martial seniors.

If this worked out, wouldn't his status be elevated in front of the sword fairy?

Though the connection might be distant, becoming a senior figure to the protagonist… tsk tsk, the thought was a bit exciting.

But somehow, things were progressing too quickly between him and this Sword Sect fairy. It was almost as if she'd been viewing him through a favorable lens from the beginning... Was his talent that appealing to her?

Perhaps it was also because he'd helped her after the Soulblade Specter's second Soul Shattering Sword.

It hadn't been long since then, and the Soulblade Specter incident was now resolved. This would be the peak time for such emotions to arise.

But regardless of the reasons, Luo Wusheng knew that love often doesn't have a reason.

Just like him: though he could list countless justifications for wanting to be with this woman, the real reason was simple and clear.

Yes... he desired her.

A rare delicacy within reach, delicious and harmless—who could resist?

Feeling a bit smug, he picked up the Sword Emperor's broken sword and reconnected with it.

Though things were complicated, he had to admit that the "well-educated" black sword had created this opportunity.

As their connection formed, Luo Wusheng suddenly noticed a new set of permissions in this hidden realm.

......

Seated behind the jade pillar, Ling Shuangxue felt a growing warmth within her. But her eyes held a strange calm. She slowly closed the red and black notebook in her hands.

'So, this is a dual cultivation technique… low level, but sufficient.'

'A bit more adjustment, and I should be ready to face him in the best state…'

Her thoughts shifted, but then suddenly halted. She raised her gaze slightly, her brows furrowing as she reached instinctively toward the jade pillar beside her—only to grasp at nothing.

The scene around her twisted and shifted.

The decorations in the hall grew somewhat illusory as new elements emerged.

She turned around instinctively, and before her was a pool of warm water, rising with gentle steam and scattered with flower petals of unknown types. The water's clear reflection was somehow even more crystalline.

Beyond the mist, Ling Shuangxue saw a young man across the pool, holding the black broken sword, looking back at her.

She seemed to understand.

"We were just a moment away… Sir, you are indeed impatient."

'Oh well, this should be enough…'

A belt slowly slipped to the ground.
