Chapter 2 - "THE CRUEL WORLD"

The sun beat down upon the dusty road as Abdullah, with a stern expression, led the group. Abdul Rehman rode ahead,

unaware of the fate that awaited the three children walking behind him. Umm e Farwah, Hammad, and Abid trudged along, their eyes fixed on Abdullah's imposing figure, their faces etched with worry and fear.

As Hammad stumbled and fell, Umm e Farwah and Abid rushed to his side, their voices trembling with concern. Abdullah sir, Hammad has fainted! Please, have mercy and give us some water.

Abdullah's gaze fell upon the children, his eyes flashing with disdain, his voice dripping with malice. You wretched creatures, you're always looking for ways to cheat and deceive.

You'll walk without water, and you'll learn your lesson. The children's eyes welled up with tears as they pleaded with Abdullah, their voices cracking with desperation.

Abdul Rehman's heart ached with sympathy for the children, his eyes filled with a mix of sadness and helplessness. He wanted to intervene, to plead for mercy on their behalf, but he knew it would be futile.

He felt a pang of guilt for not being able to protect them.

But fate had other plans. As Abdullah and Usman walked ahead, the horse lagged behind, its saddlebags containing a precious water skin. Umm e Farwah's eyes lit upon it, and with a swift motion,

she snatched the water skin and poured its contents into Hammad's parched mouth. Hammad's eyes fluttered open, and he gasped, Water... I'm thirsty... Umm e Farwah smiled weakly, sharing the water with Abid and keeping some for herself, their relief palpable.

Abdul Rehman's eyes followed the scene, his expression a mixture of hope and despair. He hoped the children would find some respite, but he knew Abdullah's wrath would not be easily appeased.

Abdullah's return was like a dark cloud, his face twisted in anger. Where is the water? he thundered, his eyes scanning the group. The children's silence was palpable, their fear evident as they cowered before him.

Abdullah's gaze fell upon them, and his voice dripped with malice. You think you can deceive me? You'll pay for your insolence;

Abdul Rehman's heart sank, his anxiety spiking as he watched the scene unfold. He felt a scream building in his throat, but he bit it back, knowing it would only make things worse.

His eyes welled up with tears as he whispered a silent prayer, hoping against hope that the children would survive this ordeal.

With a wave of his hand, Abdullah ordered the group to halt. We'll rest here, and Usman, fetch me the whip. The children's eyes widened in terror as Usman returned with the whip.

Abdullah's face was a mask of cruelty as he lashed out at the children, the whip cracking against their skin.

Abdul Rehman's expression contorted in horror, his eyes fixed on the pitiful sight before him. He felt his heart shatter into a million pieces, powerless to stop the brutality.

He knew he had to keep his distance, lest he suffer the same fate as the children. The scene was a nightmare, and Abdul Rehman felt trapped, unable to wake up from the horror that unfolded before him.

The children's cries echoed through the desert, their bodies trembling with fear. Abdullah's cruelty knew no bounds, and the children suffered at his hands.

Abdul Rehman's face reflected his anguish, his eyes red-rimmed from holding back tears. He felt like screaming, like running away from the injustice, but he was frozen in place, a helpless witness to the brutality.
