Chapter 13 - The Possible Future

As the AI walked towards the statues, they came back to life, just like when the Terran had run down towards the ruins in a rush. The difference this time was that the statues knelt to the robots as they approached the ruins instead of attacking them.

"The Children of Oceocia have returned to where their creators had fallen while waiting for them to finish the act of purging those who are an abomination to this galaxy that we all live in."

'The Children of Oceania, that was our name. We have abandoned that name and embraced a new one. We are now known as The Fulkore Collective after the Terran who awoke us from stasis after being away from the galaxy for so long." The AI said as he stepped up in front of the soldiers making it clear to the statues that he was the leader of The Fulkore Collective.

"We are wondering what has happened to the Osdronians? I have not spotted anyone entering the ancient city for at least five hundred years."

"According to the data that I have been able to gather since my revival the entire race vanished from across the galaxy without a trace leaving behind their worlds for anyone who wanted to access their ancient secrets.

Within one hundred years of their vanishing, the galaxy broke out into an era of conflict that became to be known as The Eon of Genocide because During this era two different species were eliminated from the galaxy."

"Which species were eliminated during The Eon of Genocide?" the statue asked as it sat down like a child waiting for the answer to an important question.

"The races that disappeared were the Synorians and also the Zularians."

"That cannot be Zularian United was the oldest of the allies to the Ancient Osdronian Dynasty. How could they have been wiped out?" the statue asked in shock at what it had just heard.

"After the Osdronians disappeared from the galaxy the cyborgs used this as an opportunity to begin a project as the determined exterminator of this galaxy. They first started by wiping out the Synorian Assembly. After the years they spent killing them they swapped their attention towards the Zularians. If the Vordonian Empire had not intervened the entire galaxy would have been wiped out."

"That is very bad to hear, but I know that there is a map that will lead you to the last known world where the Zularians lived. They had told our creators that if their race was ever to face a massive genocide that they would have the best and brightest of their young fly to a secret location."

"Where do I need to go to get the map that will lead to the world where The Zularians have been possibly hiding for the last three hundred years?"

"They did not want just anyone finding their new sanctuary so they scattered the location throughout the galaxy so that it would not be easy for any one group or person to find it.

The Zularians told the Osdronians the first piece of the map that leads to the location of their new world, but unfortunately, they all disappeared so the only way to find out the location will be for you to look deep inside their archives."

"There is a large group of Terrans that have come with us to these ruins. I wanted to allow them to go through the ruins so that we can have them merge with the many ais that remain dormant within these ruins." The AI stated to the giant statue as he pointed towards the forest that was behind him.

"I thought that merging was not possible with organic life?" the statue asked with an expression that showed his shock at the thought of what he had just heard.

"Yes, it was because we had tried to merge with a race physically but our robotic bodies rejected the organic flesh that we were attempting to make it bond with."

"Wait are you telling me that you have found another way to complete the merge with an organic lifeform?"

"Yes, we only have them merge with their minds. This has created a symbiotic relationship between our two races. When they are in control we can connect with them and our voice becomes a thought in their head. Also, we can take control if we wish but only for a short time."

"Can I please talk to the Terran that you have merged with first before I make up my mind about letting the other Terrans into these ancient ruins?"

"Sure, let me release my control of the body now".

As soon as the AI said that I felt in control of my body once again.

"So, speak to me Terran, is what the robot says the truth? Do you share a symbiotic relation with the AI personality?

"First off, I have a name. It is not Terran. My name is Adam Fulkore." I said out of frustration at the thought that this statue thought that I was just a normal Terran.

"To me, it does not matter what your Terran name is since you are no more than an insect to me. Your species was barely able to travel through space when I was last awake guarding this great city."

"Well, I do not care about that because I have left my old life behind. I am no longer a citizen of The Terran Collective, but I am now the leader of The Fulkore Collective. I am no longer a purely organic being, but I am so much more."

Then as soon as I spoke to the statue, I saw that its eyes began to glow a dark purple color.

"I sense that you will be able to achieve your goal of vengeance against the Terran that betrayed you, but if you do achieve your personal goal then your race will not be able to achieve its goal of exterminating its ancient mortal enemy.

But if they achieve their goal the man that betrayed you will be able to gain access to his personal goal of immortality and you will awaken something that will bring great terror into this galaxy from beyond the boundaries that separate us from a parallel galaxy."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked the statue because I wanted to know as much as I could if it involved the man who used my urge to prove my academic theory to become immortal.

"The future is always uncertain, but I used my future foresight to predict what two scenarios were the most likely to occur". The statue stood up back at full height and looked down at the ai with a very serious look on his face. "Fine they may enter the ruins with you and they are not allowed to touch anything but the area where we have stored the bodies of your kin."

When the statue stopped talking, I walked back up to where all the Terrans who had joined us were waiting for the signal to come into the ruins.

"You will all follow me into the ruins below so that we can have you merge with a robot body. When we get down there you will not touch anything." I said in a very serious tone as I pointed at the ruins that we had to enter.

As I walked towards the ruins I was being to be worried about what the statue said to me about my future. The fact that I would have to choose between killing my enemy or being able to entirely exterminate the Ancient Cyborg Slavery Bureaucracy.

Would I be able to make a choice that I would not regret or would I do something that would improve my life?
