Synopsis
The Polish campaign is over, but the echo of its ruins still resonates in the tracks of Falk's Panzer IV and his crew. Now, the SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler charges through Belgium, and France as the spearhead of a new lightning offensive. Their objective: to break through the Allied line and seal the encirclement of Dunkirk before the British can escape.

Chapter 1 - Epilogue: Faces Beneath the Steel

🔹 SS-Oberscharführer Falk Ritter – Panzer IV Commander

Cold. Methodical. Silent. Falk leads without raising his voice. After Poland and Warsaw, he is respected for both his effectiveness and his composure under pressure. He has been awarded the Iron Cross Second Class, but the burden he carries is not only that of command—it's the moral weight of every order he gives. In this new campaign, his eyes drift further from the map… and closer to his conscience.

🔹 SS-Rottenführer Konrad Weber – Gunner

The veteran. Quiet. Lethal. He only fires when he knows he'll hit. In Belgium and France, he faces better-equipped and more organized enemies, but his precision remains untouched. Some soldiers see him as more machine than man, but inside, he carries the memories of too many wars—and the ghosts of the last one.

🔹 SS-Sturmmann Ernst Schäfer – Loader

Strong. Loyal. Reserved. Ernst is the mechanical heart of the Panzer, the one who keeps the rhythm and weight of the fire going. Though clumsy outside the tank, inside he is pure synchronization. His respect for brave enemies begins to create cracks in the official narrative around him. He watches more than he speaks—and in France, he'll start speaking more.

🔹 SS-Sturmmann Helmut Krüger – Radio Operator

Young, bright, restless. Helmut listens more than he should. Not just to orders, but to rumors, command mistakes, and international voices. In this campaign, he begins picking up foreign signals—catching not only Allied frequencies but also the internal tensions of the Reich. He might be the first in the crew to question where history is taking them.

🔹 SS-Sturmmann Lukas Engel – Driver

Impulsive. Loyal. Nervous outside the tank, flawless behind the wheel. His connection to the Panzer is physical, visceral. He feels the engine like a part of his own body. He has lost some of his enthusiasm after Warsaw, and now fights not only the Allies but also his own doubts about purpose. In the forests of Belgium and the fields of France, his courage will be tested.

🔹 SS-Hauptsturmführer Albrecht – Operations Officer

Serious, disciplined, discreet. Albrecht is Falk's direct superior and the link between the armored units and High Command. During the French campaign, he earned his men's respect not through speeches, but by standing at the front and making firm decisions at the most critical moments. He was awarded the Iron Cross First Class for his leadership during the crossing of the Meuse and for coordinating the advance after the breakthrough at Sedan. Deep down, he sees more than he shows—and remembers every man who didn't return.

🔹 SS-Brigadeführer Sepp Dietrich – Commander of the Leibstandarte

Commander of the Leibstandarte, both a charismatic and feared figure, personally tied to Hitler. Dietrich is the face of the Waffen-SS elite and, at the same time, a practical commander who knows wars are not won with symbols but with fire, steel, and discipline. In this campaign, he closely supervises his men and does not hesitate to make drastic decisions if the advance requires it. To Falk, he is both a figure of admiration and a constant reminder of how far obedience can go.
