....

After resting for the night, Dragonite's stamina had fully recovered...

The storm at sea had finally calmed down.

Caleb and Hatsumi arrived at the harbor, where Hatsumi summoned her Pokémon, a blue Lapras.

Caleb and Dragonite exchanged a glance at the sight of Lapras, both wearing complicated expressions.

Hatsumi: "What's with those faces? Are you looking down on poor Trainers who can't afford to take a boat?"

Caleb: "No, it's just that seeing your Lapras reminds me of some… unpleasant memories."

Hatsumi let Alakazam carry a large bag of food and drinks with Psychic before making space for one person on Lapras' back.

"If it's unpleasant, then don't talk about it," she said, "Come on, hop on. Let's go pick up your Lucario."

Caleb nodded and stepped onto Lapras' back steadily. He planned to travel with Hatsumi first and then leave this place when the time came.

Staring at the endless expanse of the sea, Caleb said, "I'll leave Dragonite with you, otherwise, Lucario might not follow you."

"Mm-mm, got it!" Hatsumi nodded vigorously, patting her flat chest confidently, "Don't worry, I'll make sure both of them get back to you safely."

Caleb relaxed slightly, "Thanks."

Lapras moved swiftly across the sea, soon arriving near New Island.

Suddenly, Dragonite tensed up and turned around sharply.

Noticing its reaction, Caleb followed its gaze, only to see a pale pink humanoid figure floating in the air, staring fixedly in their direction.

It was Mewtwo…

"What's wrong?" Hatsumi asked.

Caleb didn't answer. He merely pointed behind them.

"Mewtwo... Is it here for you?" Hatsumi's expression turned odd.

Caleb shook his head, "I don't know."

"Why don't you call it down and have a chat?" Hatsumi suggested, "That max level affinity might convince it to teleport us the rest of the way..."

Caleb thought for a moment, but decided against it. Even if he did call Mewtwo down, he wouldn't know what to say.

He wasn't even sure if this world shared the same continuity as the 'Infernal Affair' or 'Bug Catcher' Instances.

Neither he nor Mewtwo moved...

As Lapras sailed quietly across the sea, Mewtwo silently trailed behind them, making the scene eerily unsettling.

By noon, Hatsumi had Lapras use Ice Beam to create a small ice platform where they could eat lunch.

Pointing at Mewtwo, Hatsumi asked, "Should we invite it over for a meal?"

Before Caleb could respond, Mewtwo spoke first. Its signature cold voice echoed telepathically in his mind, laced with faint confusion:

>..Who are you?..<

As it spoke, Mewtwo searched its memories from the moment it awoke...

It had emerged from a glass chamber filled with liquid, then followed a man named Giovanni to a human city. It was clad in steel armor and fought other Pokémon every day.

Mewtwo was certain it had never seen the human below before. Yet… why did he feel so familiar?

Had something happened before its awakening that it couldn't remember?

Anxiety overwhelmed Mewtwo, an emotion it had never experienced before. It desperately wanted answers, to know what it had forgotten.

Unaware of Mewtwo's thoughts, Caleb hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you know little Amber?"

'Amber...' Hearing that name, confusion flickered in Mewtwo's eyes.

It sounded so familiar…

Unbidden, images flashed in its mind... a starry night sky over a thriving human city.

Amid the beauty, Mewtwo seemed to see a little girl with green hair and a white dress whispering gently:

"Live well... okay?"

As Mewtwo floated motionless in mid-air, lost in thought, Caleb handed Dragonite's Poké Ball to Hatsumi.

"Time is almost up. I've got to go. The rest is up to you!" he said.

"Don't worry! I'll bring both of your precious Pokémon back safe and sound!" Hatsumi nodded firmly.

Caleb nodded back, hugged Dragonite one last time, then glanced up at Mewtwo.

The next second...

[Countdown: 0]

His figure slowly vanished from Lapras' back...

....

The scenery shifted rapidly...

...

Meanwhile, in a shop in the commercial district…

Luna stared at the chat window in disbelief:

{Luna Winslow: Big bro! You there?}

{Terrence Jones: Who's this?}

{Luna Winslow: It's me, Luna! How could you forget me so fast? (╥﹏╥)}

{Terrence Jones: ...}

{Terrence Jones: Uh… lady, you got the wrong person, okay?}

Just then, the achievement notifications boomed overhead.

Luna froze for a few seconds before realization dawned... she angrily deleted Terrence's contact and searched for Caleb Chase in her friends list...

...

Meanwhile, an utterly baffled Terrence showed his darkened chat window to Miles...

Terrence asked, "What just happened?"

Miles glanced at it, then deadpanned, "Her tone sounded young, and you called her 'lady'... of course she'd get mad."

Terrence scratched his head, "But I don't know her! She added me first and said stuff like I forgot her!"

Busy gaming, Miles shrugged, "Sounds like she confused you with someone else. It's not like duplicate names don't exist in the Infinite World..."

....

Caleb materialized in his living room...

"I'm back!" He said excitedly.

Mimikyu who was sprawled miserably on the couch instantly perked up and leaped into his arms in a flying tackle...
