Chapter 38 - Chapter 37: A Luna’s Resolve

Leah had always been considered an unlikely Luna, an omega who rose to become a queen and a servant who rose to become a ruler. However, recent events had demonstrated that she was not to be taken lightly, if anything. Serafina's kidnapping had highlighted a gap in the pack's defenses, and Leah was sworn to never let it happen again.

Surrounded by fighters, strategists, and the elders of the pack, she stood in the battle room of the castle. A map of the Nightwind region was spread out in front of them, highlighting any vulnerabilities that had been used to kidnap Serafina.

"We must be proactive," Leah said resolutely. "Reacting to threats alone is not enough. We have to get ready for them.

Beta Samuel, who is now a crucial member of the Security Council, gave a nod. "Luna, I concur. Patrol routes need to be changed, and we need more eyes on the perimeter.

Threats can come from anywhere, even if the rogue wolves have been vanquished.

Jacob, Leah's Alpha and mate, had been silently admiring her until she turned to face him. "We also need to fortify the stronghold itself. There should be other lines of defense in addition to the soldiers stationed at the gates. Enchanted barriers and hidden traps are only two examples of the measures taken to ensure that no opponent enters this area unpunished.

Jacob smiled. "You sound like a seasoned war strategist."

She met his eyes with her own. "I've learned that being Luna is more than just being a kind spouse or caring individual. It's about sticking up for our beliefs no matter what.

Astonished by Leah's self-assurance, the elders whispered to each other. Some had questioned her because they believed an omega lacked the strength to lead. They did, however, see what Jacob had long suspected: Leah was a strong foe.

Following the conference, Samuel was given command of a specialist security unit, additional watchtowers were planned, and warriors were assigned new rotations. Barduff Castle would never be in danger again.

Later that evening, Jacob grabbed Leah by the shoulders and pulled her away. "You're proving them all wrong, you know."

Leah tilted her head. "Wrong about what?"

"That an omega could never be a true Luna," he added, stroking a wandering hair behind her ear. "You're not just a Luna, Leah. You're a queen.

She smiled, but there was still work to be done. "Then let's make sure our kingdom stands strong."
