"Hey! Wake up! Get up and eat—quit playing dead!"A voice echoed slowly into Renji Kai's mind.
The next moment, a sharp jolt struck his lower back, snapping him awake with a start.
"Dammit, if you're not dead, then eat this meal already. You're up next!"A man, wearing a military cap, a white coat, and green slacks, stood over him, glaring menacingly.
"This... where am I?" Renji asked, confused as he looked around the pitch-black room.
The man chuckled darkly. "Ha! Looks like you're scared senseless already. Let me make it crystal clear—this is the first level of Impel Down, the Crimson Hell. This meal might be your last, so you better enjoy it while you still can."
With those ominous words, the guard turned and left.
BANG!The heavy iron door slammed shut, leaving Renji alone in the cell.
Just as he started to sit up and assess his situation, a sudden flood of fragmented memories surged into his mind.
"AHH!"An intense, splitting headache overwhelmed him, forcing a groan from his lips.
A moment later, the pain subsided slowly, and vivid images began flashing through his consciousness.
After what felt like a long time, Renji collapsed back onto the cold, damp floor with a heavy thud.
"This can't be real... I really transmigrated? And into the One Piece world?!"He kept muttering the same sentence, over and over, in disbelief.
Yes, Renji Kai had indeed transmigrated—and not just anywhere, but straight into the world of One Piece, the famous anime.
But unlike the typical fantasy where the main character gains powerful abilities or a heroic identity, Renji found himself in the body of a no-name pirate.
To make matters worse, this pirate had recently been captured by the Navy and thrown into the darkest depths of Impel Down—the underwater fortress prison known for its hopeless brutality.
Impel Down wasn't just any prison. It housed only the most dangerous and heinous criminals. The place was filled with monstrous guards, surveillance Den Den Mushi, and an oppressive atmosphere. Surrounding the prison, the ocean teemed with massive Sea Kings, making escape virtually impossible—hence the prison's reputation as an unbreakable stronghold.
Once inside Impel Down, there was only one way out: breaking free.
And throughout history, only one man had ever succeeded in escaping—Shiki the Golden Lion.
"Damn it! Not only did I end up in the body of a deadbeat pirate... they didn't even give me a cheat system?"Renji cursed to himself.
But just as he finished speaking—
DING!A familiar mechanical voice chimed in his mind:
"System initialization complete. Naruto Character Possession System activated. Congratulations on unlocking the system and its built-in shop! You have received a Beginner's Gift Pack. Please open your inventory to claim it."
"It's here! It's really here!"Renji shouted in excitement and quickly opened the so-called system interface in his mind.
Instantly, a translucent screen appeared before his eyes:

"What the heck? Naruto Possession System?"Renji stared at the interface, confused.
Then he remembered the beginner gift pack. Without hesitation, he used his thoughts to open the system's inventory and activated the gift.
DING!
"Beginner's Gift Pack opened successfully. You have received a Character Card: Might Guy from Naruto, and 10 Possession Uses."
"Holy crap! Might Guy? The strongest Taijutsu master in Naruto? Even Madara called him 'The Strongest Man'!"
The system interface refreshed:

Now things started making sense to Renji.
This system allowed him to "possess" the power of characters from Naruto. Once possessed, he could use all of that character's techniques—Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, everything.
But to activate a character, he needed two things:
A Character Card, and
Possession Uses.
Without both, possession was impossible.
As for how to get more character cards or possession uses? Renji wasn't sure yet.
Then he recalled the system had mentioned a shop. Using his thoughts, he opened it instantly.
Rows of Naruto character cards appeared in his mind:
Sage of the Six Paths (Character Card) – Cost: 10 million Reputation
Sage Mode Naruto Uzumaki – Cost: 1 million Reputation
Uchiha Madara – Cost: 800,000 Reputation
Hashirama Senju – Cost: 500,000 Reputation
Itachi Uchiha – Cost: 100,000 Reputation
Possession Use (1 Hour) – Cost: 1,000 Reputation
Almost all the top-tier ninjas from Naruto were listed in the shop, each with a corresponding cost in Reputation Points.
The most powerful one, the Sage of Six Paths, required a staggering ten million points!
Even a single hour of Possession required 1,000 points.
Renji looked back at his status—his Reputation Points were a big, fat zero.
He sighed in frustration.
Then, in a corner of the shop screen, he noticed a short explanation:
"Reputation Points are gained by defeating opponents. The stronger the opponent, the more points awarded."
So now he understood the system entirely.
To earn Reputation and unlock more powers, Renji had to fight—and win.
Until then, he only had 10 uses of the Might Guy character card, and each use lasted just 1 hour.
After an hour, he would revert back to being an ordinary, powerless human.
Fortunately, Might Guy's strength was no joke. With his near-invincible Taijutsu and the Eight Inner Gates technique, Renji was confident that—unless he ran into a Navy Admiral or one of the Four Emperors—he could take on almost anyone in a one-hour window.
