Chapter 5 - PROLOGUE

At the family reunion, the mens wears the outfit consisting of a crisp white long-sleeved shirt with a mandarin collar.

Lucksten (dark green trousers), Luskgavl (dark red trousers), and Lockhart (black trousers) and a black belt. The shirt is neatly tucked into the trousers. They both holding a dark-coloured coat. And their hairstyle was a comma, and then luxury of their bracelet and necklace from William Henry and their perfume from Dylan Blue Eau De Toilette Versace.

Their Mother, Dionnaise dressed classy and elegant. A simple black midi dress adorns short sleeves and a wrap-style neckline. She carried a light brown woven handbag. A multicolored scarf drapes around her neck.

Their Father, Tyndareus wears a light houndstooth check blazer over a crisp white shirt and a brown necktie. His trousers match dark brown, creating a refined and coordinated look.

A family of five gathered in the remoteness of a Corringan headquarters and took to their respective chairs. Tyndareus silently gazed to his three towering sons, wondering how a wide fake smile came to him.

"Corringan Organization once again reaps fruits of success. Profits are up, market sharing is expanding." He spoke word for word with them in front of his family, making the sons bring in applause.

Lucksten on the other side looking at his food and taking a bite on it and said "Impressive, father," and continues eating.

"Wonderful. Another testament of the devil of wealth and power." Luskgavl said sarcastically to his father while smiling at him.

"Ah...quietly...impressive," was Lockhart's calm congratulation to his father as his father could be heard laughing.

Dionnaise, however, sweetly smiled to her husband and saying widely, "Perhaps we can carry the discussion to some other topic? My new kindergarten school in Vendu, Philosonphria is quietly engaging. The

Philohms and International kids would be interested, though."

He looks past his wife, who has stopped talking, and again at his company. "We aim to control the market in five years. Your input has been a bit...underwhelming"

But his focus again went on his sons..and his palm rests on his cheek

"Lucksten, your recent picture has tanked totally with the critics and at the box office. Your image is suffering. This damages the Corringan name." He speaks madly looking at his father Lucksten.

Lucksten said madly, "It wasn't really my fault, Father. The studio interfered..." and averted his gaze.

Tyndareus in a powerful posture didn't believe this, "Excuses. I expect results, not excuses. Your behavior has been erratic. Your public appearances have shown a lack of professionalism. Get a grip on yourself, boy."

His mind then shifts back to Luskgavl. "Luskgavl, your last novel was poorly received. Your public appearances are...unorthodox. You need to cultivate a somewhat marketable image."

Defensively scoffing, growing menacingly furious, "Marketability? I write for myself, not for the masses. My art is not for sale. And up for adaptation."

Tyndareus went on a hard tone, "Your art is funded by Corringan. Your lifestyle is sustained by Corringan. You will comply with this family's way of expectations."

At last, Tyndareus looks at Lockhart, "And you, Lockhart, Your modeling career is successful but superficial. You need to find something more significant to contribute to this family legacy."

Heavy silence descends.

Dionnaise puts a thought-proposing hand on Lockhart's arm. "Tyndareus, it isn't working. These are your sons. They need your support more than they need your opposition. They are not just numbers on a balance sheet; they are human beings."

Tyndareus stays impassive and looks at his sons. The last moment exhibits the heavy air made by the tension, starkly portraying a family defined by money and power yet cut apart by lack of understanding and genuine connection.
