Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 1 (1/5)

Tyndareus stays impassive and looks at his sons. The last moment exhibits the heavy air made by the tension, starkly portraying a family defined by money and power yet cut apart by lack of understanding and genuine connection.

Later that night, as the dinner concluded and the food was cleared away, the Corringan family engaged in light conversation. Lucksten, standing up, said, "I'll be heading home. Thank you for the invitation." He bowed his head slightly and walked out the door, accompanied by his butler, James.

As they were leaving, Lockhart's butler approached Lockhart and whispered, "Sir, it's already quite late. You have an event at the royal palace tomorrow." Lockhart nodded in understanding, turning to his mother. "I need to go, Mom. I'll see you soon, and take care of yourself. Dad, I wish you luck with the organization's growth," he said before departing with his butler.

At the table, Tyndareus, Dionnaise, and Luskgavl exchanged quiet words amidst the ambient noise. Unlike the others, Luskgavl did not have a butler or maid. His mother glanced at him and said, "Aren't you heading home? It's late, and you need your rest."

Luskgavl smiled reassuringly. "I'm fine, Mom. I'll go back once you're finished here." His mother replied, "I want to speak with your father first before returning to the mansion." Hearing "mansion" sparked a shift in Luskgavl's mood as he recalled something his father had kept hidden from his mother.

Concern etched on his face, he said, "Mom, I need to tell you something. But it's better if you stay with me tonight. The mansion is undergoing mandatory cleaning." His mother smiled and nodded in agreement, "Alright, I'll stay with you."

As the evening progressed, Luskgavl's gaze drifted towards his father, burdened by the weight of a secret he held. Meanwhile, his mother conversed with the organization's workers. He noticed his father stepping outside with the director and the assistant secretary. "Mom, he's leaving. You should talk to him now, before something comes to light regarding illegal dealings he might be involved in," Luskgavl urged, watching them head outdoors. His mother quickly followed, calling out, "Honey... I need to talk to you."

However, her husband, preoccupied, didn't respond as the director and assistant secretary stepped in to block her path. Frustration bubbled within her as she confronted him. "Are you really going to ignore me after your disrespectful comments to your own family?" she questioned, gesturing to the workers standing nearby.

She attempted to approach her husband, but he pushed her away, causing her to stumble. He turned to her, his expression hardening, "Can't you see I'm busy tonight? I'm unavailable for conversation! The evening is over, and your sons don't care about me!"

With that, he walked away, leaving her on the ground. Luskgavl emerged outside to find his mother struggling to regain her composure while his father continued onward, flanked by the workers. He felt a surge of anger as he hurried to help her stand. "His behavior is unacceptable. Let's go home, Mom."

She nodded, casting a glance back at her husband as she rolled her eyes in frustration. Wrapping her hand around his arm, Luskgavl supported her as they made their way to the car together.
