Chapter 14 - 13

"What do you think a husband and wife do in their bedroom?"

W-What— he just stole my first kiss!

"W-What husband and wife are you talking about!?"

I looked away, unable to bear his intense gaze.

He sneered, "Are we not?"

Well, he has a point… but still! That was my first kiss! It should've been something sacred—with someone I truly love!

"I know what you're thinking," he suddenly said.

"You want another kiss?" he added.

I quickly shook my head, only then realizing that my hands were pressed against his firm chest. I tried pushing him away, but he didn't even budge!

"W-What the heck!? Move away from me already!" I snapped.

My eyes widened when he suddenly pinned me to the bed, both of his hands on either side of my head.

"H-Hey!"

He leaned down again, bringing his face close to mine, making me shut my eyes tightly—afraid he might kiss me again.

"Shh. My mom is eavesdropping outside our room," he whispered, his breath tickling my ear and making me shiver.

I was about to open my eyes when he spoke again.

"She wants a little Zion before she heads back to the main house, Mrs. Cartridge."

I shook my head. No way!

"A-A little Z-Zion!? I'm not—"

I didn't even finish what I was going to say because his soft lips suddenly landed on mine again.

I didn't know whether I should open my eyes or not as my hands clenched tightly at the fabric of his clothes. I felt his tongue brushing my lips, and I didn't know what to do!

After a while, he finally pulled away, and I panted as I opened my eyes and looked at his face. His jaw tightened, and his gaze was sharp.

"...Why did you k-k-kiss me?" I asked shyly, looking away.

"Naturally, you're my wife. I can kiss you whenever I want," he said simply.

My cheeks were definitely burning now. I could feel his breath near my face again, so I shut my eyes tightly—thinking he might kiss me once more.

He breathed, "…Do you want more?"

More—what!?

I shook my head quickly, and I heard him chuckle. I felt the pressure lift off my body, so I opened my eyes and saw him standing in front of me.

"We'll save that one for next time," he said, before hurrying into the bathroom.

I was left frozen by what just happened. I snapped back to reality only when I heard the sound of the shower running. I exhaled deeply and tried to calm myself, pulling the blanket over my head. I took deep breaths while listening to the water from the shower and mentally replaying everything that just happened.

Those mesmerizing eyes. That soft kiss. His tongue brushing my lips. My body was burning up, yet I kept the blanket over my entire body, especially over my head. Minutes passed, and then I heard the bathroom door open—but I didn't take the blanket off. Instead, I clutched it tightly.

"I know you're awake," he said softly.

I could feel him near my side, so I turned away from him.

"Don't you have your own room?" I asked, nervous.

I heard him chuckle, which made me frown.

"The room you've been sleeping in is mine. This is the master bedroom. I just didn't sleep here these past few days because I wanted you to get used to your surroundings first."

"So where have you been sleeping these past few days, huh?" I asked, unable to stop myself.

"My study," he replied briefly. I didn't respond.

"You haven't opened the double door beside your dressing room, have you?" he continued.

I wanted to remove the blanket from over my head, but I couldn't—he might kiss me again!

"That's where my clothes are. The bathroom here connects to my study, which also connects to my dressing room."

It was the first time I'd heard him say something so long. He always spoke coldly, but there was a gentle undertone now.

I didn't even know all that about his house. But then again, what should I expect? He owns this house.

I heard his footsteps moving away, probably to the dressing room, and finally felt a sense of relief.

"You should sleep first," he said. I hesitated.

What if he tries something while I'm asleep!? He k-k-kissed me earlier… so he might d-d-do it again!

"I'll just be in my study. I still have some important papers to read," he added, and I exhaled in relief.

When I heard the sound of the door opening and closing, that's when I finally felt my eyelids growing heavy.

I was only awakened when I felt warmth at my back.

As I tried to shift, my elbow accidentally hit something firm behind me. My eyes widened in shock as I turned around.

The man behind me was sleeping soundly. Zion.

The villain of My Lily looked like an angel while sleeping—not at all like how the story described him. I was pulled back to reality when I felt something heavy on my stomach. I quickly removed the blanket—and saw Zion hugging me from behind, his arms wrapped around me tightly.

"So early in the morning, and you already want us to do something, Mrs. Cartridge," Zion said in a deep, husky voice, and I turned my gaze back to his face.

My heart thudded wildly when he suddenly opened his eyes and stared directly at me.

"W-What—!?" My eyes widened when he bent down and kissed me again.

I could feel my ears burning from his kiss. My heart pounded even faster when he suddenly bit my lower lip, making me groan in pain.
