Chapter 110: Luka's Silence

The morning was cold damp when Niels arrived at Broadfield Stadium. The town was only just starting to wake up.
Getting Thomas approved by the board the day before had been an important step. Now Niels could focus on preparing the team for preseason.
There was still one thing on his mind. Max and Luka's futures were uncertain, and both situations could affect the squad.
The staff meeting took place in a small room near the main corridor. Old team photos covered the walls, and someone had already made coffee.
Emma sat at the table with her notes in front of her. Thomas was beside her, looking through his training plans. Two assistant coaches had joined them, along with a young analyst who had brought a laptop full of data.
Niels stood at the front of the room.
"Let's keep the first week simple," he said.
He went through the schedule.
