Chapter 109: Building the Belief

The next morning, Niels arrived at Broadfield early.
His meeting with Thomas had gone well, but there was still one important step left. Niels needed the board to approve Thomas as the club's new fitness coach.
The new season was getting closer, and there was no time to waste.
Niels walked into the boardroom. It was a small, dated room with faded wallpaper, a long table and a few coffee cups left from an earlier meeting. A cold draft came through the cracked window overlooking the pitch.
Emma was already there, standing near the window.
Five board members sat around the table. They watched Niels as he took his seat, waiting to hear what he had to say.
At the center of the table was Hargreaves, the chairman. He had spent most of his life around football in Sussex and knew the club inside out.
He leaned forward.
"Alright, Niels," he said. "Tell us why you think Thomas is worth the money."
