The morning was cool when Niels left his flat in Crawley.
He was still thinking about Emma's call.
Levante wanted Max. Parma were interested in Luka. Baxter was going back to Everton.
There was a lot to deal with, but Niels had already started looking at possible solutions. His "Future Stars" list was still on his desk, with Barkley, Coady and Pogba among the names he wanted to investigate.
Today, though, his attention was on the coaching staff.
He was heading to London to meet Thomas, the fitness coach he had spoken to in Amsterdam. They had kept in contact since Niels returned to England, regularly exchanging ideas about training, coaching and player development.
A few days earlier, Thomas had told him he would be in England.
They agreed to meet while he was there.
