After Mad Dog leaves the training room, leaving behind a red-faced Ashton, Ashton silently watches Mad Dog leave, shutting the door quietly behind him. Ashton blinks, picking up his jaw from the floor as he stares at the spot Mad Dog once was, losing himself in his thoughts as he remembers Mad Dog's words.
"But remember Agnis is your devil, and your devil isn't you. And you're not so bad, kid."
Agnis expected Mad Dog to say a lot--nothing kind or good, mind you, so for Mad Dog to say something awfully kind and kind of...sweet--it's out of character for the cocky man, and it makes butterflies flutter in Ashton's stomach and his ears burn a bright red shade, dying his tan skin.
Ashton feels warmth bubble in his chest and--he doesn't know what to name this feeling that's inside him, erupting his chest like a volcano. Honestly, he's never even felt whatever the hell this is before, and Ashton is feeling confused, and a bit terrified, because of it.
