Chapter 8 - Roaming the world

It's time to leave the sect.

There's nothing left here for me.

No family.

No friends.

No reason to stay.

It's time for me to explore the world…

And carve my own path through cultivation.

Day 1

I've arrived in the next nation.

I'm here.

547 septillion miles traveled in an instant—just by flying.

Not bad, considering I haven't even reached the Law Comprehension stage yet.

Now to find a place to live.

"Excuse me, sir. Do you have any homes available?"

"Yes, I've got five for sale," the man replied, sizing me up.

"I'll take the one that's most secluded."

"Will do. That'll be 24,000 silver."

I handed over the payment without hesitation.

"Here's the location and a talisman to unlock it."

"Thank you, sir. Have a good day."

As I turned to leave, I caught the look in his eyes.

He stared at me like he pitied me.

The Man's thoughts:

This young man must've gone through a lot… scars from his face down to his hips. I hope he finds peace.

He looked at me with sorrow.

Sure, my body's covered in scars—from my face to my hips.

I wasn't even wearing a shirt. I'm not as muscular as I once was.

But there's nothing to pity.

It's not like he could've stopped the Golden Elephant Sect from destroying my family… and everything I knew.

I finally arrived at my new home.

It looked a little rusty—but it would have to do.

Time to rebuild… starting with my body.

27 billion squats.

46 quintillion push-ups.

137 sextillion one-arm pull-ups—from the roof.

The next day…

Before I start cultivating seriously, I need to stock up on food.

I made my way into town.

Bump.

"Sorry, are you okay?"

I looked up.

Holy…

She was gorgeous.

"Here, let me help you pick that up. Sorry again… Have a good day."

I turned to leave, but—

"Wait," she said. "Would you like to come over for dinner?"

"I'd love to… but are you sure I won't be a bother?"

"No, no, no—not at all!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Really."

I smiled. "What's your name?"

"Mang Lu. And yours?"

"Lin Xian.

…Fine then. I'll bother you."

The next day…

"Thank you for dinner—and for letting me stay the night."

Mang Lu smiled. "No problem. I'll see you around."

"Yeah…" I said as I walked away.

"I'm sure our paths will cross again soon."
