Chapter 2 - Underwater

Raina felt suffocated and out of breath as the world went dark for a few minutes.

Raina opened her eyes in irritation and discovered she was underwater. She hurriedly thrust herself up, but the cold frigid water was chilling her body down.

Raina gasped as she rose from the water, only to sink back down once again. Unexpectedly, a hand belonging to a mysterious figure reached out and pulled her body ashore.

As she coughed violently, attempting to expel the water that had invaded her nose and throat, Raina glanced at the ground, which was blanketed in layers of snow. Why was there snow in this place? Turning her gaze back to the frigid, churning water, she then looked up at the stranger who had come to her aid.

The stranger appeared to be a young man, likely in his early to mid-twenties. He wore a puffy fur coat and donned a peculiar headband. His hair was long and neatly braided, cascading down his back.

Just as Raina was about to speak, a torrent of memories surged into her mind, overwhelming her senses. Whose memories were these? In a moment of urgency, Raina sprang to her feet and rushed toward the water to catch a glimpse of her reflection.

Though she still recognized herself, she was bewildered by the fact that she was dressed in strange, tattered clothing. The stranger quickly grasped Raina's arm, clearly alarmed that she might leap back into the water.

"Are you out of your mind?! Why are you trying to end your life?!" he exclaimed, his concern evident.

Raina frowned in confusion at his words. Why would she ever consider taking her own life? She attempts to free herself from his grip, but as she struggles, another wave of memories rushed through her mind. Strangely, these memories did not belong to her; they belonged to someone named Feng Ziyi. Raina looked at the stranger, feeling a mix of confusion and perplexity as she grappled with the bewildering situation unfolding before her.

What's going on? Just moments ago, Raina was aboard an airplane, but now she finds herself in an unfamiliar and desolate location. Surreal memories that do not belong to her are surfacing one after another. She questions the reality of her own existence: Is this truly her body? Is she dead? Or could this all be a hallucination?

In a swift motion, Raina evaded the stranger's attempt to seize her and made her way towards the dense forest that loomed ahead. Drawing from her newfound memories, she recalled that there was a hut somewhere in that direction.

With each step she took, one after the other, Raina soon realized that she had become overwhelmed and had lost consciousness.
