Chapter 7 - ARLEANIAN PIRATES

[Vin 13: Does the administrative department in Landon City still do its job? My god, it's been over a week, and I still haven't renewed my ID.]

[X_X 01: Really? But I saw the line proceeding normally yesterday.]

[Sword 0001: You should try reapplying. I also waited a few days, going back and forth to Landon City Hall. However, my registration process seemed to fail the first time, so I waited for nothing.]

[Aj 23: So even the registration system of the administrative department is failing? Hahaha, Earth is really degrading.]

[Vin 13: Thanks, Sword 0001, it seems my first registration failed.]

---

Looking at the thread, most would think it was just a casual conversation.

However, as a spy, Axel saw more deeply into it.

Axel knew that each error was equivalent to another identity being swapped with another.

Sure enough, after browsing through a tab in the black market, he saw a newcomer who had accepted and completed multiple ID forgery in the past week.

"Noir, a newbie programmer…created an account just a week ago."

[Noir: Novice Programmer

Level: 0

Task Finished: 36

Works: Counterfeit ID - 36]

Looking at his completed tasks, all of them were creating counterfeit IDs.

Furthermore, tracing the IP of those who asked for counterfeit ID, most of them were around Landon City.

While thinking of the possibility that those who issued the task were the pirates he was looking for, Axel couldn't help but be amazed by Noir's neatness and speed.

In just a week, he did over 36 third-level counterfeit IDs, making Axel doubtful if Noir was a veteran pretending to be a newbie.

Opening Noir's interface, he sent a private message.

[General Axel 03: Can I commission a private task for you?]

[Noir 11111: Post the task on the dark web; I'll see if it's suitable.]

[General Axel 03: No, only you can do this, and it's a bit sensitive. I don't want others to know.]

[Noir 11111: Don't care, don't waste my time.]

---

In the Digital Hub, just when Nash was about to block General Axel's account, he saw an offer that made him interested.

[General Axel 03: Give me a moment to explain. I'll give 1,000 arls for each minute.]

[Noir 11111: Your clock is ticking...] Nash typed in interest as he stopped his current task.

Over the week, he had really treated the digital hub as his house.

Renting a private room for 10 Arls an hour, Nash even got a bed to sleep on.

Over the course of a week and nonstop work, Nash racked up over 50,000 arls.

The efficiency with which he earned money was enough to send a local gang leader to shame.

Unfortunately, for him, it's not nearly enough.

Nash promised himself that once he got rich, he would eat a banquet every day.

Forget about the banquet; with 50,000 arls, he couldn't even rent a decent house in this place.

Those businessmen from Earth really know how to hike up prices, oppressing their own kind.

Taking a break, he looked with interest at what task General Axel wanted.

This was 1,000 arls every minute just to listen to him; he wondered how important it was.

[General Axel 03: I'm looking for a group of criminals who have gone loose in Landon City. I see that you've created counterfeit IDs around the Landon City these days. The criminals I'm looking for should be among them.]

[Noir 11111: So you want me to find them? How much are you willing to pay?]

[General Axel 03: If I can confirm they are indeed who I'm looking for, I'm willing to pay 100k arls.]

[Noir 11111: That's it? No guarantee, trusting only your judgment? Furthermore, if it's only 100k, I would rather not do this job.] Noir typed with a slight smirk.

Reading the flow of General Axel's speech pattern, he could confirm three things: he was straightforward, urgent, and, more importantly, rich.

Knowing he could milk some money, why not?

[General Axel 03: This- how about you quote the price and the method of validating our agreement? I'll see if it's appropriate.]

[Noir 11111: 1 million arls, and I'll give you all fraudulent identities that appeared in Landon City this week. Furthermore, I need 300k arls as a deposit.] Nash quoted, thinking that General Axel would disagree and negotiate the price.

[General Axel 03: Yes, I'll send the 300k arls now. I hope to see their information in a day. This conversation is recorded; if you dare to fool me, I'll make your reputation stink in the dark web.]

"Hmm? Is this guy richer than I thought? or are the criminals worth much more?"

Although doubtful, seeing the 300k arls added to his bank account, Nash felt energetic, too lazy to question anything.

As for the warning, he felt it was only natural.

[Noir 11111: Wait a few hours. Also, send 3,000 Arls; you wasted 3 minutes of my life.]

---

Meanwhile, in Axel's base, seeing Noir's reply, he couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"This should be stable."

To charge him like a lion, Axel thought that Noir also had the ability of a lion.

Furthermore, a million arls for the possibility of retrieving a cargo of Void Crystals is already quite cheap.

Void Crystals, being the vital resource of transcendence, are not cheap.

In the black market, a single Void Crystal could go up to over ten million arls, yet it's not always available.

Most of it was smuggled by some lucky miner or embezzled by greedy officials; hoping to buy them would require luck and timeliness.

---

In nervousness and anticipation, he waited for hours for Noir's reply.

Ding~

Jolting him awake, he hurried to his computer, looking at the file sent by Noir.

"Found it!"

Looking at the file containing detailed information on 7 people, from their height, weight, real-time photos, and even current residence, Axel quickly found the unique one among them.

"An Arleanian Pirate?! So it's an inside job."

Axel was wondering who had the guts and strength to loot a strongly protected miner ship.

Axel even thought it was his fellow rebel groups; he didn't expect it to be the same kind of people who were oppressing them.
