Alessio swallowed, unable to say a word, but just stared at her.
Amber rubbed her hands. She wasn't saying a word as well, quietly running his gaze.
"Um…I—"
"I don't know what it is," he cut her off, saying.
She blinked at him. "Oh well, I was just…" Her teeth bit into her bottom lip. "Do you know anything about Evelyn? Has Mr. Mancini managed to find her?"
"No," he responded, walking past her. "But he's gone to get her, and I need to figure out where exactly he's heading."
Amber turned and hurried after him. "What do you mean? Did Mr. Mancini go alone?"
He nodded. "Yes, and it's my fault."
Getting into the elevator, he pressed the numbers to head to the second floor, but Amber stepping right in after him, caught him off guard.
He asked, "What are you doing?"
"Going up with you," she said.
"Why?" He looked confused. "Aren't you going to go home?"
