Chapter 253: The Death of the Wolf King
What was that strange phenomenon?
Seeing the brilliant golden radiance that somehow managed to be luminous without blinding him, Fenrir felt an ominous chill run down his spine. The light seemed to pulse and writhe like some living entity, casting dancing shadows across the battlefield. But he couldn't identify what kind of magic this was until his skin began rapidly hardening to stone. Suddenly, terror gripped him as he recognised the ancient curse – wasn't this the legendary Gorgon's Gaze that Greek myths spoke of, where petrifying power took visible form?
Golden streams of light rippled through the air like liquid metal, twisting and flowing with supernatural grace. Everything they touched instantly transformed into lifeless stone. The moment Sean unleashed the Serpent King's Eyes, the werewolves and wild wolves nearest to him became marble statues frozen in their final moments of agony, while those at a greater distance found their limbs slowly crystallising into rock.
They tried to run, turning to flee in panic, but before they could take more than a few steps, their bodies had already begun turning to stone, leaving only statues frozen in their desperate attempt to escape.
In just over ten seconds, not only these werewolves and wild wolves but even the nearby trees and weeds turned to stone. Everything fell into deathly silence.
At this moment, Sean was forcibly ejected from his White Serpent King state. He collapsed on the ground, gasping heavily. Currently Sean felt as if both his spirit and body had been forcibly drained. Right now he just wanted to lie on the ground and didn't want to move even a finger.
Bloodline abilities were ultimately still a type of magic.
Since it was magic, it naturally required consuming power.
The scale of the Serpent King's Eyes was so vast that using it for just over ten seconds had drained all of Sean's strength.
After lying for a while, Sean's constitution was ultimately higher than ordinary wizards. He reached into his Undetectable Extension Bag and took out large quantities of potions, pouring them into his mouth as if they cost nothing.
As the potions entered his stomach, their effects quickly spread.
Finally, Sean crawled up from the ground. Looking at the completely petrified environment and various creatures around him, even though these were his own doing, Sean couldn't help but feel shocked.
"I'll need to be more careful when using this ability in the future."
Walking directly to Fenrir's statue, looking at the three-meter-tall Wolf King, Sean frowned slightly. He vaguely felt a sense of discord.
Without hesitation, Sean directly waved his wand and blasted Fenrir's statue apart.
"Bombarda!"
Boom!
With the explosion, Fenrir's statue shattered. Just then, a black shadow darted out from within the statue and quickly ran toward the distant forest.
Sean watched the rapidly retreating black shadow and thought, "As expected." When he had approached Fenrir's statue earlier, he felt something was wrong. He didn't know what method Fenrir had used, but he had apparently employed something like shedding skin or moulting to escape the petrification effect of the Serpent King's Eyes.
It had to be said that a Wolf King crowned with the title "Child of the Dark Night" really wasn't so easy to kill.
Boom!
Black smoke swirled as Sean pursued in the direction Fenrir had fled.
By now they were far from Hogwarts, and that mysterious gaze was no longer watching Sean. As for that mysterious gaze, Sean had a general guess. The most likely candidate was naturally Dumbledore.
Flying speed was ultimately faster than running.
Sean looked at Fenrir, now close at hand, and waved his wand.
"Bombarda!"
"Bombarda!"
"Bombarda!"
Boom boom boom...
Crash!
Continuous explosions erupted around Fenrir, with blast after blast of concussive force raining down from above.
Thanks to Fenrir's speed and agility, otherwise, under such dense Blasting Curse bombardment, he would have been blown to pieces long ago.
"Thorn Entanglement!"
The ground shattered as thick vines rolled up, blocking Fenrir's path.
At the same time, Sean descended from the sky, black smoke flowing around him and transforming into black smoke hands that grabbed toward Fenrir.
Hiss hiss hiss...
Fenrir spun his body, his clawed hands continuously slashing, actually tearing those black smoke hands apart directly.
But just then, a series of spells poured from Sean's wand in an endless stream toward Fenrir. Although these spells were things like the Petrification Curse, Impediment Jinx, and Stunning Spell, magic that didn't cause much damage to werewolves, under the impact and interference of these spells, Fenrir was still suppressed.
Looking at Fenrir, who was being suppressed by him and constantly changing positions trying to break through, Sean spoke: "It seems your Child of the Dark Night power can't be used casually either."
Glaring viciously at Sean, the werewolf-transformed Fenrir couldn't speak human words, but his meaning was already clear.
While waving his wand, Sean took out large quantities of potions and poured them into his mouth.
As his wand waved, more and more black smoke poured from Sean's body, quickly condensing into solid black chains that spun and entangled toward Fenrir.
At first, Fenrir could still resist slightly, but as time passed, the seemingly solid chains created by Sean's Smoky Rope Curse completely entangled Fenrir's body.
Crack, crack, crack...
The pitch-black chains made cracking sounds under Fenrir's struggles.
But contrary to Fenrir's expectations, he had no way to deal with these chains that looked only two fingers thick!
"Awoo..."
Raising his head in a wolf howl, Fenrir's body began swelling again.
However, it appeared Fenrir's transformation was very slow this time, obviously wanting to use the Child of the Dark Night power again.
Sean looked at Fenrir. When he had bound Fenrir just now, he had already noticed Dementors from Hogwarts gathering not far away. Obviously these Dementors had discovered Sirius's presence.
Regarding those gathering Dementors, Sean didn't want to miss out. The levels of his Frost Domain and Pain Absorption spells weren't high enough yet.
"Sorry, I can't give you a chance to transform into the Child of the Dark Night. I suddenly have something very urgent to do, so let's settle this now."
Hearing Sean's words, Fenrir immediately opened his mouth and roared angrily, but Sean completely ignored him. He simply raised his wand and aimed it at Fenrir's open mouth.
"Incendio!"
"Venomous Tentacula Poison!"
"Bombarda!"
Fire, poison, explosion.
Three types of energy poured into Fenrir's mouth.
Perhaps Fenrir could resist the burning of flames, perhaps Fenrir could resist the power of explosions.
But under poison, especially having poison poured into his mouth, no matter how high Fenrir's magic resistance, he couldn't resist the poison's power. His resistance grew weaker and weaker until he lost all strength, lost all vitality, and became a corpse hanging on Sean's chains, completely losing all breath.
Child of the Dark Night, Wolf King, Fenrir Greyback. Dead!
