We watched Gamma in front of the fire he made in the darkness as he proceeded with the spell to unblock Dylan and Declan's Alpha powers.
Until I watched Gamma perform the spell for three hours, and still counting, I didn't think the spell to unblock an Alpha's powers could be so much of a big deal. I had thought a one sentence incantation would fix it.
But clearly I was wrong.
It was a few minutes to midnight now, and I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep my eyes open for. Maybe I shouldn't have insisted on being present, and gone to my bedroom when I still had the chance.
I remained on my throne, not because I wanted to, but because I wasn't sure if moving would disrupt the whole rite, and make Gamma restart the ritual.
"Do you want to go back inside now?" Declan whispered from beside me.
