Chapter 4 - Liana Uncovers Her Father’s Secret

Today was the last day at the beach. Emilia was sitting in front of Kevin, who had his arms wrapped around her. Meanwhile, Liana kept giving them piercing looks, unable to control herself—she was ready to kill Emilia.

"Well guys, when are we leaving?" Luna asked, looking at everyone.

"We're not taking you back, so why are you even ready?" Marco looked at Luna.

"Just wait, I'll get you, Marco!" Luna threw her cap at him.

"Ah, you cruel beauty!" Marco winked at her.

"Gross," Luna glared at him.

Everyone packed their belongings into the caddy and began their journey back. Emilia and Kevin sat together, with Emilia resting her head on Kevin's shoulder.

First, they dropped Luna and Mira, then Liana and Eric. Now, Kevin got out with Emilia when he dropped her at her house.

"Take care, apple pie," Kevin pulled her closer, holding her by the waist.

"I'll miss you so much," Emilia looked at Kevin, her eyes slightly misted.

"Don't worry, you're my brave girl," Kevin kissed both of her eyes. Emilia gave him a tight hug and turned back.

Back at Liana's House

Liana had just entered the house when a servant approached her.

"Is Dad home?" Liana asked her.

"I'm not sure, ma'am, he was late to duty today," the servant lowered her head.

"Okay, fine," Liana said and headed upstairs. She walked slowly toward her father's room. But as she got closer, the voices from inside stopped her in her tracks. With a pounding heart, she opened the door, and the sight that greeted her made her feet freeze in shock.

"Dad... Miss Maya Taylor?" Liana stood in stunned silence, her eyes wide as she saw Mr. Parker and Miss Maya Taylor. They both quickly moved apart, looking at Liana with fear.

Liana immediately turned around and stormed to her room.

"Liana… Listen to me," Mr. Parker called, following her. He knocked on the door of her room.

"What should I listen to? What should I listen to, Dad? Is there anything worth listening to from you?" Liana's voice was loud and tearful.

"Liana, it's not what you think," Mr. Parker tried to explain, but the sound of the door opening interrupted him.

"Then what is it, Dad? What were you and Miss Maya doing in bed?" Liana asked angrily. Mr. Parker had no answer this time.

"Explain it to me, I want to know. What was going on?" Liana looked at him with fiery anger, while Mr. Parker avoided eye contact.

"Liana, speak respectfully. He is your father," Miss Maya tried to intervene.

"I'm talking to my father, so just shut up, you fucking bitch!" Liana shouted at her.

"Liana, stay within your limits. You're crossing the line now," Mr. Parker raised his voice.

"Limits? Are you serious? You're telling me I'm crossing the line?" Liana spoke sarcastically.

"Yes, you are," Mr. Parker glared at her.

"At least, I didn't cross the line as much as you, Dad," Liana emphasized each word. Mr. Parker was speechless, staring at her.

"Since when has this been going on?" Liana asked, recalling something.

"For two years," Mr. Parker met her gaze without any remorse.

"So that's why you wanted me to get admission in Manchester, so you could keep getting updates about me while you continue your so-called 'game' with her?" Liana spoke sarcastically, but her words hit Mr. Parker deeply. His hand rose to strike her, but Miss Maya quickly stopped him.

"Parker, what are you doing? She's young!" Miss Maya intervened, holding him back.

Liana stood, stunned, her hands on her face, still unable to believe what she had just witnessed.

"You raised your hand on me, for her?" She was in shock.

"Get to your room and speak to Maya respectfully. I love her," Mr. Parker said coldly and walked away.

Liana angrily stormed out of the house and stopped in front of a nightclub while driving.

"What do you want, ma'am?" The bartender asked as he looked at her.

 "Wine," came her straightforward reply.

A wine glass was placed in front of her, and she drank the entire glass in one go. One after another, she kept drinking the shots. Soon, she had taken a whole bottle.

Tears were pouring from her eyes uncontrollably as if the pain in her heart was overwhelming her soul.

In this drunken state, she walked out of the club, holding the wine bottle in her hand. She staggered down the street, walking aimlessly, until she sat down at a spot. Her body couldn't bear the weight of her existence.

"Why did you do this, Dad?" she cried.

"You shouldn't have done that, Dad." Her sobs intensified.

"You shouldn't have done that. You were my ideal, Dad." Her tears were pouring endlessly.

"That place was Mom's," she sobbed, feeling overwhelmed.

"That room was Mom's. That bed was Mom's. You were with Mom. That love was Mom's." Her voice became louder as she continued to cry.

"How could you give that place to someone else, Dad? How could you give it to her?" Her tears wouldn't stop.

"You ruined everything, Dad." She was completely intoxicated.

"You slapped me for that woman." She placed her hand on her cheek, helpless.

"Because of her, you slapped me." Her sobs grew stronger.

"You men are all the same, all you do is break hearts," she continued crying.

Just then, a car stopped in front of her, and someone came out of it, walking towards her.

"Liana, what are you doing here?" Eric sat beside her.

"I don't know," Liana looked at Eric, confused.

"You're drunk," Eric said, noticing her condition, worried.

"No, I'm not," Liana smiled faintly.

"Stupid girl. Look at what you've done to yourself. Get up, I'll take you home," Eric said, helping her stand.

"I don't want to go home," Liana struggled in his grip.

"Why?" Eric looked at her, puzzled.

"I just don't want to..." Liana tried to free herself from his hold.

"Fine, I won't take you home, but come with me to my place," Eric said, and in no time, he had placed her in his car.

A little while later, they were in front of Eric's apartment. Eric stepped out of the car, opened the door on Liana's side, and lifted her into his arms. He carried her inside and laid her down on a bed in one of the rooms. He also sent his driver to bring her car.

Now, he silently observed Liana, who was lying exhausted on the bed, drunk and completely knocked out.

"Life already had enough problems, now I have her on my mind too," Eric sighed, shaking his head, and left the room.
