Chapter 11 - chapter 11

Awakening the Ancient

The ground beneath the tower cracked open, sending shockwaves through the rubble-strewn floor. Alaric and Seris staggered apart, momentarily united by the terror that rose from the earth itself.

From the jagged fissure emerged a colossal beast—a creature both wolf and something far older. Its fur was black as midnight, marbled with veins of glowing red, and eyes like molten lava. The ancient terror was Fenraak himself—the First Wolf, reborn in darkness.

The Wraithbound scattered in fear, howling and trembling before the colossal presence.

"Fenraak…" Rhaegor whispered, falling to his knees. "The balance shattered. The original curse… undone."

The beast towered over them, the air thick with primal power and rage.

Alaric's voice was a growl. "This was the Circle's true plan—to awaken Fenraak twisted by shadow, to burn down the world and reshape it."

Seris stepped forward, her crimson eyes locking on the beast. "He's not a monster. He's the root of our existence. And he will decide our fate."

Fenraak's gaze swept over them, nostrils flaring as he sniffed the blood still fresh in the air.

Then, with a voice like thunder rolling over the mountains, he spoke:

"Children of moon and fire… you are mine to judge."

Alaric stepped beside Seris, their shared blood oath burning brighter than ever.

"We are more than your legacy," Alaric said firmly. "We are the rebirth of Fenraak's flame—not his destruction."

The beast growled, shaking the ground.

"Prove it."
