Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: There's Something You Don't Know

Just as Mage Fang Ka's words fell, a task popped up in front of all the players.

"Special Mission: Become Mage Fang Ka's Exclusive Chef."

"Task Requirements: Responsible for Mage Fang Ka's three meals a day."

"Task Reward: Mage Fang Ka's favorability randomly increases, probability of receiving special care from Mage Fang Ka increases, daily 1 point 1 Copper Coin (reward increases with player level)."

"Note: Please note that if the food isn't delicious, you will be fired by Mage Fang Ka, and your favorability will decrease significantly."

Many players who were eager to try their hand at it saw the final note and immediately quieted down.

They had experienced the consequences of a favorability decrease.

Without absolute confidence, they naturally didn't dare to take the risk.

Otherwise, who knows when one could increase the favorability back again?

And what kind of price would one have to pay to raise it back?

Thinking about it, it seemed to be a losing proposition.

Mr. Zhou nudged Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching with his shoulder, leaned forward, and asked, "Grandpa Qian, how are you at cooking?"

"I think this task is really great! You only need to go to make three meals a day for Mage Fang Ka, and it equals the effort we put into gathering Magic Potion for so long."

"Moreover, it says that the reward isn't fixed, it increases with the player's level."

"This suggests that this is a growth task, and won't become obsolete with the game's progress."

"Most importantly, you can receive special attention from Mage Fang Ka, which might trigger exclusive tasks for this chef in the future!"

"If you're good at cooking, don't keep it to yourself, make sure you seize this opportunity!"

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching looked at Mr. Zhou in exasperation, "I'm an orthopedic doctor, how am I supposed to cook?"

Mr. Zhou sighed lightly, "Ah, that's too bad, such a shame."

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching glanced at Fang Ka, then at Mr. Zhou, "I can't cook, what about you? Can't you either?"

"I think you ought to give it a try, anyway, it's so good."

Hearing Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching's words, Mr. Zhou quickly shook his head, "I can cook some ordinary dishes, but the taste is just so-so, I wouldn't dare to step up and get myself killed."

The two looked at each other helplessly.

At this moment, the Iron Black Pot glanced around at the players, speaking with excitement, "This game really blows my mind. Bringing back these corpses was just an experiment to see if we could get some extra reward."

"Didn't anticipate that it would directly produce a special mission, plus a chef profession."

"This means there's truly a cooking system in this game."

"The details in this game are so well done! The only unfortunate thing is we're all Skeletons, can't eat any meals."

"Anyone here a chef? Better seize the opportunity, this task is simply too good!"

"I've been tempted a hundred times over, but regrettably, my cooking is quite average, so I really don't dare to force myself into accepting this task."

The players exchanged glances, each showing a look of desire yet hesitance.

Finally, one player stepped forward from the crowd to the front: "Mage Fang Ka, I'm willing to handle this beast and prepare delicious dishes for you."

Flatulence patted Mr. Zhou's shoulder next to him: "Somersault has gone mad? Why did he suddenly step up to take the task without saying a word? If the food he makes is disliked by Mage Fang Ka, wouldn't he be finished?"

Indeed, it was Sea Flip who had stepped forward.

Mr. Zhou shrugged his shoulders, "Since he has the guts to accept the task, he surely has the confidence, maybe he's a real chef in real life."

Flatulence glanced at Sea Flip in front, then spoke up, "A chef has time for games? It's daytime now."

Mr. Zhou hesitated for a moment, "Well, when he comes over later, we could just ask him, right? I believe he has the courage to accept the task, he must be confident."

Hearing Mr. Zhou say this, Flatulence didn't add anything more.

Looking at the skeleton player before him, Fang Ka spoke unhurriedly, "Hmm, very well, just wait here for a moment."

As those words fell, Fang Ka headed toward the Ancient Castle.

Sea Flip received a task prompt saying he had accepted the task.

After returning to the Ancient Castle, Fang Ka immediately moved various cooking equipment, ingredients, and seasonings out from the castle.

There were many secrets in the Ancient Castle, which he did not want the players to know.

Hence, he planned to have the players build a house next to the castle, to use as a kitchen, where Sea Flip could cook.

Seeing Fang Ka moving out a pile of cooking foods, Sea Flip was momentarily stunned.

He originally thought he could enter the Ancient Castle to cook, getting a chance to see the castle's true interior.

In that case, he'd have more to boast to other players, but didn't expect Fang Ka had no intention of letting him inside at all.

After moving everything out, Fang Ka came before the players and said, "Everyone, I now need to build a kitchen next to the castle and a Divine Hall, it's time for you all to showcase your abilities."

As those words fell, another task prompt popped before the players.

"Level 1 Group Task: Build Divine Hall, Build Kitchen."

"Task Requirement: At the location designated by Mage Fang Ka, construct a grand and upscale kitchen and Divine Hall."

"Reward Pool: 5 Silver Coins, 500 experience points, 500 points. (allocated based on players' performance in task)"

"Note: 1 Gold equals 100 Silver, 1 Silver equals 100 Copper Coins."

Seeing this task, Mr. Zhou excitedly jumped up directly, "I told you! If the game has a construction system, how could it not let us build houses?"

"Isn't it here now? Oh my gosh, I love it!"

He eagerly accepted the task, and other players quickly stepped forward, expressing their willingness to accept the task.

After all the players accepted the task, Mr. Zhou shouted loudly, "I'm a civil engineer, any colleagues here?"

Upon hearing Mr. Zhou's words, the players exchanged glances, none replied to him.

"Oh my? Seriously? Among 25 players, I'm the only civil engineer?"

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching extended his hand and patted Mr. Zhou's shoulder, then said with some surprise, "It's unexpected! You're actually studying civil engineering? In your line of work, shouldn't you be quite busy? How do you have time for gaming?"

Mr. Zhou sighed, "Grandpa Qian, you don't know about..."
