Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Absolutely Delicious

After Fang Ka came out, he scanned the players present.

He noticed that those players who went to collect blood still hadn't returned.

He wasn't in a hurry and leisurely went to a lounge chair nearby and sat down.

Then he picked up a book he carried with him and started reading.

Mr. Zhou glanced curiously at the book in Fang Ka's hand.

Then he nudged Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching beside him with his shoulder and voiced his confusion:

"Mr. Qian, what do you think is that book in Mage Fang Ka's hand? I saw the cover, but I don't recognize any of the characters on it."

"It's not any foreign language I'm familiar with."

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching also looked over, then retracted his gaze:

"I've never seen that kind of script either."

Mr. Zhou suddenly said excitedly:

"Do you think the game might have invented its own language in pursuit of realism?"

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching shook his head gently at this:

"Creating a language isn't that easy. I think it might just be a game setting."

"The contents of the book might be completely meaningless, only to make us players see the NPC reading."

"To enhance the sense of realism."

Mr. Zhou showed a contemplative expression upon hearing this:

"You have a point, Mr. Qian."

"But if this game can achieve this level of detail, I think it's not impossible to create a language, right?"

"Of course, it might also be some obscure language in reality that's little known."

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching turned his gaze towards the forest and said, "Someone's coming over there."

Mr. Zhou looked over.

Because of the distance and many obstructions, they could only vaguely make out a group of shadows.

Mr. Zhou nodded slightly: "I heard from the players nearby that in addition to the task of collecting Magic Potions, Mage Fang Ka also issued a task to collect blood."

"Those should be the players who went to collect blood."

Soon, the group of shadows approached.

Their speed wasn't fast, as they were carrying several animal carcasses and some large almonds.

Once they got closer, they dropped the carcasses on the ground, then one by one carried the large almonds towards Fang Ka.

Iron Black Pot walked at the forefront, came to Fang Ka, and handed over the large coconut in his hand:

"Mage Fang Ka, here is the blood you wanted."

Fang Ka slowly closed the book in his hand and then turned his gaze to the blood inside the large almonds.

He then reached out to take it, observed for a moment, and shook it a few times.

Because he had assisted Kain with various alchemy experiments since he was young.

Fang Ka had a fairly precise estimation of liquids.

He quickly determined that there should be just over a liter of blood in there.

It could be said to be quite precise.

It seems Wangzai Little Buns has some skills.

Fang Ka nodded slightly and then settled the task reward for Iron Black Pot.

The other players, upon seeing this, also hurried over to hand over their large almonds to Fang Ka, completing the task.

Wangzai Little Buns was the last to submit the task and saw Fang Ka's goodwill towards her improve back to normal.

She couldn't help but clench her fist in excitement.

It's been too difficult for her; she definitely won't take reckless risks in the future.

Fang Ka motioned for them to wait with the other players, then he took the large almonds filled with blood one by one into the Ancient Castle.

After placing them properly, he came out again.

At this moment, Iron Black Pot came over, pointed at the animal carcasses on the ground, and spoke:

"Mage Fang Ka, I don't know if these carcasses are of any use to you?"

Fang Ka cast his glance at those carcasses and raised an eyebrow slightly.

At this moment, he suddenly remembered something.

That was, he hadn't had a decent meal for several days.

When Kain was alive, he was a great cook, whether it was his specialty grilled fish or his usual mushroom meat soup; every meal left Fang Ka licking his lips.

It spoiled his taste buds completely.

When Kain was out 'collecting materials', not on the Island, Fang Ka would eat the dried fish Kain left behind.

Throw the dried fish into a pot, sprinkle some wild vegetables, add some of Kain's secret spices, and although it wasn't as tasty as Kain's meals, it was passable.

Several days ago, Kain died, and Fang Ka had been absorbed in cultivation, relying on the dried fish Kain left behind for his meals.

He really needed a cook now.

Firstly, to improve his living standards, and secondly, to save the time spent cooking, which he could then use for meditation or reading.

Thinking of this, Fang Ka's expression turned serious, and he pointed to the largest beast.

This beast was similar to a bear but hairless, with a single horn on its head.

This is called a Lin Horn, considered one of the fiercest beasts on this Island.

He was quite amazed that the players managed to hunt a Lin Horn.

The most important thing about the Lin Horn is that its meat is exceptionally tender and delicious, often used by Kain to make mushroom meat soup.

Of course, if we're talking about top-quality meat, it definitely belongs to the Magic Beasts, which taste far better than regular beasts and even slightly enhance magic power.

Magic Beasts are a very unique existence.

They breed within their own race, not interbreeding with other races, unable to conceive with outsiders, as if naturally possessing reproductive isolation.

And the offspring born within the race all possess a Demon Source, similar to a kind of bloodline inheritance.

It can be understood as a special kind of race.

A special race completely different from other races.

Apart from the special Magic Beast Race, in other races.

Even if two Mages come together, the offspring they bear may not possess a Demon Source, possibly being a regular person.

While a child born to two ordinary people might possess a Demon Source and become a Mage.

Everything remains undefined, unfixed.

According to ancient records, offspring propagation in the Magic Beast Race is difficult, with many Magic Beast Races becoming extinct due to reproduction issues, fading into the annals of history.

The Magic Beast Races that continue to exist number only thirty-six, forming an alliance due to external pressures, becoming a considerable force.

Although these 36 Magic Beast Races are slightly more prolific compared to those that vanished into history, their situation is not optimistic.

Therefore, they highly value their clanspeople, protecting them fiercely.

Thus, before considering eating Magic Beast meat, one must ponder if they are tough enough to withstand the consequences.

Recollecting his thoughts slightly, Fang Ka pointed to the Lin Horn's carcass: "This beast's meat is of excellent quality. If prepared well for cuisine, it will definitely taste exquisite."
