Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: I Would Call It a Handbook

Fang Ka's eyebrows moved slightly, then he gently closed the book in his hand.

His gaze shifted to the ground not far away.

Lying there was a skeleton, and it was none other than Sea Flip.

Fang Ka had told Sea Flip to make dinner for him at a designated time, and now the time was approaching, Sea Flip had also come online.

As soon as Sea Flip came online, his head moved a little, and he glanced around.

Then, with a nimble movement, he leapt up from the ground in one swift motion.

After getting up, he quickly walked towards Fang Ka.

Coming to Fang Ka, Sea Flip respectfully said, "Mage Fang Ka, please wait a moment, I will go make your dinner now."

As soon as he finished speaking, Sea Flip scurried off to the side.

The kitchen hadn't been built yet, so Sea Flip had Mr. Zhou help set up a temporary shed.

All the cooking utensils had been moved from the Ancient Castle to here, all placed under the shed.

Fang Ka locked the Ancient Castle, grabbed a lounge chair and some books, and came here.

Besides making it easier to observe the players' work, it was also convenient for him to eat.

Under the shed, Sea Flip started by using friction to make fire.

The skill of making fire by friction had been taught several times to the players by Mr. Zhou, so they could all do it skillfully now.

After starting the fire, Sea Flip used the remaining ingredients to begin preparing dinner for Fang Ka.

When moving these utensils out of the Ancient Castle earlier, Fang Ka casually informed Sea Flip about the types and uses of various seasonings.

Therefore, there was no worry that Sea Flip couldn't tell the seasonings apart.

Watching Sea Flip start to cook, Fang Ka reopened the book in his hands and began reading again.

But very soon, a fragrant aroma wafted over on the breeze, causing Fang Ka to subconsciously twitch his nose.

He swallowed slightly and then shifted his gaze towards Sea Flip.

Sea Flip seemed to be making soup, stirring gently in a pot with a wooden ladle, but it was unclear what kind of soup it was.

Shifting his attention back to his book, Fang Ka continued to read.

Whatever Sea Flip was making, he would be able to eat it soon anyway.

Best to seize the time to read, and not waste any.

Half an hour later, Sea Flip walked over.

In one hand, he held a silver tray with a piece of steaming roast meat on it, sprinkled with seasonings and with a silver knife and fork stuck in it.

In the other hand, he held a small ceramic bowl filled with meat soup, exuding a tempting fragrance, with a slightly longer wooden spoon inside.

"Mage Fang Ka, please enjoy your meal."

Sea Flip handed the tray and the ceramic bowl to Fang Ka.

Fang Ka took them casually, placed them on a tree stump beside him, and began to enjoy the meal.

"Mmm, not bad." Fang Ka nodded gently while eating.

A professional is indeed different, making food much better than he ever could.

Then he handed a book next to him to Sea Flip: "This book contains information about all types of edible, non-hazardous ingredients on this island, as well as plants that can be used as seasonings, with their various effects clearly recorded."

"Take a look when you can, and consider changing up the flavors often."

This book was authored by Kain, who was a gourmet himself, cooking top-grade delicious meals, especially his grilled fish, which was absolutely superb.

Since Kain had always taken on the cooking role and never taught Fang Ka culinary skills, Fang Ka's cooking was merely 'edible' and couldn't be considered tasty at all.

The players naturally couldn't understand the world's text, but that was okay, Fang Ka could make it understandable for him.

With the Soul Master-Servant Contract, Fang Ka could make Sea Flip see whatever he wanted in the book.

Fang Ka was already very familiar with the book's contents, translating them was a simple task.

Sea Flip took the book with a slightly excited expression.

This exclusive task was really something, just for making a meal, he got such benefits.

Fang Ka sipped a few spoonfuls of soup and found that there were too many ingredients inside, making it inconvenient to eat with a spoon. He looked up at Sea Flip: "Bring me some chopsticks."

When he was young, he crafted a bunch of wooden chopsticks and even taught Kain how to use them, receiving praise then.

The utensils given to Sea Flip naturally included chopsticks.

Hearing Fang Ka's request, Sea Flip quickly placed the book within his bones and ran over to bring the chopsticks to Fang Ka.

After dinner, Sea Flip tidied up the dishes and Fang Ka continued reading.

Seeing Fang Ka resume his reading, Sea Flip dared not disturb him, and then picked up his stone axe, heading over to Mr. Zhou.

As Sea Flip came over, Mr. Zhou teased, "Hey, Flip! You look really pleased with yourself, huh? Did you get some good benefits for making Mage Fang Ka a meal? Huh? What's that book stuck in your bones?"

Sea Flip proudly took out the book wedged in his bones: "Oh? You can tell I'm pleased even with just my skeleton?"

Mr. Zhou looked at Sea Flip with some disdain: "Your head's practically reaching the sky, walking like you don't recognize anyone. Who couldn't tell you're on cloud nine?"

Sea Flip waved the book in front of Mr. Zhou and Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching: "I skimmed through this, and it's filled with records of all sorts of edible things on this island."

"With very detailed descriptions of their effects, I'd call it a treasure trove."

"The detail in this game is truly beyond words. To compile this book, this game company must have put in considerable effort."

Mr. Zhou looked on enviously: "I'm so jealous! Truly worthy of an exclusive task."

"More benefits are likely in the future. It's a pity I'm not much of a cook, otherwise I would've competed with you."

Grandpa Qian of Bone-Touching glanced at Mr. Zhou and said, "You're not doing too bad yourself. With your current performance, the majority of the team task rewards will surely go to you."

"Your impressive building skills in front of Mage Fang Ka will undoubtedly earn you his admiration, considering his level of AI intelligence."

"Look at this island, there's no construction other than that Ancient Castle. There will certainly be more buildings needed in the future."

"You might even become Mage Fang Ka's designated architect one day."

"Worst case, when the housing system is out and players need houses, if they want sturdy and beautiful homes, they might still turn to you for help."

"At that time, you can even charge for your services, how great is that!"

Mr. Zhou waved his hand slightly: "Who knows when the housing system will release, or if there'll be competitors among new players then?"

"The market may no longer be monopolizable, and the trading system hasn't been activated either."

"Without the trading system, paid assistance isn't reliable."
